We just loved our stay at Lakaz Chamarel. Arriving at Lakaz Chamarel after our long journey was immediately calming. Probably the most chilled out check-in experience ever. We were given cold towels and a cool drink and then shown to our stunning room - one...More

Great place for unwinding and starting holidays, suites are spacious, clean and have great view. Staff is friendly and very service minded. We booked half board and learnt that both breakfast and dinner could have better variety of food served. The beach is closeby and...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was great with a heavy duty rustic construction and a front door that would keep an elephant out. There was sufficient furniture of comfortable design to make a pleasant stay. It had a luxurious huge 4 poster bed...More

Spent five nights in one of the best boutique hotels I have ever experienced. Staff: from reception to checkout, every thing was done to make our stay totally relaxed. In this family run hotel every guest is treated as an extended family member. Room: we...More

Hi Sorry I have taken so long to reply. To get to the Black River Gorge from Chamarel you would need to hire a car or a private taxi as it is quite a long way from this hotel. I would say its around 6/8 miles away.

All rooms are special and nice; But personally we would take with seaview again - If you don't want to walk, they pick you up and bring you back any time by golfcart and without supplement.
