This is a charming place in the most stunning setting. Our chalet was so cute and had an incredible view over the mountains and towards the Rhumerie de Chamarel. The bed was super comfy and the shower was hot and powerful (as far as I’m concerned, these are the most important features). The staff were all great, very helpful and...

This was my last stop before turning back home from my Tour de Maurice adventure and everything about this location was even more amazing than I had imagined. The rustic farm life around me made me realize the beauty and simplicity of things that we often fail to appreciate in our busy lives. The property located in the heights of...

This place was clearly set up by professionals in the hospitality industry as every detail has been thought through to make the client feel totally taken care of and free of worries. The chalets are built in such a way that you cannot hear or see your neighbours and you really have a sense of outdoors and nature whilst having...

La vieille cheminee is ideally located on chamarel hillside. Surrounded by trees and singing birds. The staff is very polite and the breakfast was excellently balanced. Lots of tracks for trekking in the lush forest or by the riverside.

We stayed here for a week with our 4 kids in August and love the wilderness and freedom of our week. The kids spent a lot of time with the horses and Freddie at the stables was so good including them in his daily brushing and caring for the animals. We walked a lot, ate lovely local food, rode the...

Campement is a brilliant self-catering cottage. It is well appointed and spacious and a fire can be set in the fireplace for you at night. Remember that you are up in the mountains so water can be slightly less reliable than in Europe! The staff (especially Mirielle, Christelle and Frederick) are very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast and evening meal can...

We stayed here for 2 nights so we could visit the 7 Earths, the waterfall and the Rum Distillery. I think this was my favourite place in Mauritius. BUT... come with a car. We were so pleased we did. Otherwise you will be walking for a long time to get anywhere. There is absolutely no where to eat in Chamarel...

I booked La Vielle Cheminee on line and did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accommodation, location and friendliness of the staff. I would honestly recommend this amazing retreat in Nature to all the people I know visiting Mauritius. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back!

We received a great and warm welcome by the staff. The reception is well situated with a stunning view over the mountain and the surroundings. The room was clean and decorated with taste. We had a room with a chimney where we have the opportunity to make a fire. The pool was well maintained really well situated. Overall, I recommend...
