We ate our breakfasts here during our stay at Rio Lagartos and did not stay in the hotel. The service is very friendly. We ordered the quesadillas, natural juices with milk and toast, and enjoyed our meals each time. The accompanying salsa verde with the quesadilla is especially good. When I wanted a slight kick, they gave me their homemade...

I loved this town. Not touristy, just very very fishy. Hotel is right on the lagoon. At night my daughters and I fished from the docks and caught ladyfish, catfish, little croaker looking fish, and a bunch of others. The lagoon is full of tarpon, jacks, and snook. Easy and cheap to hire a boat if you just want to...

I stayed at the Hotel Villa de Pescadores in total a little over a week. Felipe and his staff could not have been more helpful. They helped me greatly through an unforeseen family tragedy from finding a driver, Jose, a great gentleman, to take me to Cancun and storing my luggage until I returned. I was treated just like a...

Hotel was clean, cool and had the perfect balcony to watch the sun come up in the morning before our birdwatching tour. (Bathroom soaps smelled great too!) Diego's employee Francisco (Paco) was our guide...and an excellent one! Pueblo, hotel and birding service - Excelente!

A small, cute, no frills hotel. Owner is very proud of his hotel. Clean, Great waterfront and wonderful rooftop views. No elevator. Good restaurants nearby. Be sure to take a boat trip. We recommend to ask for "Gato" to provide his boat and guide you. Amazing birds and he'll take you to the flamingos.

We were told we rec'd. the best 3 waterfront rooms on the property. Staff was very attentive to our needs, however the shower had no pressure and was cold! The beds & rooms were clean and our stay was enjoyable. We ate breakfast here and it was very good and reasonable.

Right on the water in a pretty sleepy town but the boat trip, arranged by the hotel, was AMAZING! Wood storks as well as flamingos and lots more. The hotel is simple but very clean. The management could not have been nicer....some Spanish is helpful. We thought it a good value!

We have stayed at Villa de pescadores a half dozen times over the past few years and this hotel is our favorite in Rio. The owner, Felipe is allways warm and welcoming, and helpful whenever we need anything. We come to Rio for fishing, and they allways give us a garden level room which is nice for moving all our...

Nice little hotel. The guests are mostly in Rio Lagartos for the wildlife so basic clean accommodations are just fine. We enjoyed the balcony. Hot water was mostly available. Coffee and light breakfasts were served in the mornings in their cafe/office. We were there during carnival time and so were treated to enthusiastic singers, dancers and revelers most of the...
