I highly recommend visiting Johnsons crossing. The rooms are clean comfortable and quite. The food and pastry are amazing and Sandy and Frank are the nicest people on the Alcan. I would definitely stop in again !!
Nice people here and great on-site fresh baking. It hit the spot for us when we needed a coffee and a pastry. They have a few cute souvenirs for sale too, for those who are looking. Conveniently located at crossroads. We didn’t try any of their other services.
Had booked to stay here and was advised that we would have a queen bed motel room. When we arrived they advised that a road crew was staying in the room we had booked and we were offered another room. Other room was very small with 2 single beds with very saggy mattresses. Sorry, but we moved on up the road to Whitehorse which made this day almost a drive of 600 miles.
Don’t stay in a room here if you value your sleep. The buzzing noise emanating from something (a furnace?) kept us awake and was not investigated by the staff member we reported it to. Wifi is patchy (although this was of less importance to us).
Driven past this Ak hwy landmark many times Decided to give it s try in Oct Had a comfortable quite room in the 3 room motel part ( the rest is a campground) and were the only guests so I can’t answer how quiet it would have been if the other two rooms had been occupied We wondered how they could stay open in the off season but found that several locals joined us for a good breakfast the view of the bridge over the Teslin River from the cafe was great We wiill be back in the spring
There are not a lot of good lodges along the Alaska Highway but this is one of the better ones. Sandy and her staff were extremely helpful with information about the area. The small dining room and gift shop were a gem. The food was good and cinnamon buns a bonus. Will definitely stop here again.
Campground is mainly open level lots close to office, gas pumps, restaurant and shower/bathroom. Very friendly efficient staff and cozy atmosphere in restaurant/gift shop. Great food from daily specials to breakfasts, pastries and even coffee. Desserts are irresistible. Good selections from gift shop. Outside patio with tables and chairs. The Teslin river is a short walk away.
We have stayed at the Yukon Motel for years but this year they were booked and we had to find a new spot to stay. After traveling the Alaskan Highway for years that can be like playing Russian roulette! We have stayed in some really BAD places. This place is DEFINITELY not on the bad list. The rooms were wonderful, clean and comfortable just a little small for two adults and two black labs, but that was minor. The people were friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend staying here! You can take a nice walk down to the river and dine on great food in their quaint restaurant/ gift shop. I am happy the other motel was booked so we could discover this little hidden gem!
We stayed here for one night only. We have a 40' trailer and it is a pull behind model. The stall that we had was just big enough for us to fit. We looked like we stuck out into the road front and back but everyone else was able to get by OK. We did not use the washroom facilities or the laundry so I cannot comment on those. You are fairly close to the river at this campsite so we walked down to it just under the bridge. If I was a fishermen I would have been able to fish. We were also at the boat launch. The campground was quiet despite being right next to the highway. The other campers were quiet as well and we enjoyed a good evening here. We did go and enjoy one of the cinnamon buns for our desert after supper and they were very good. They did have a restaurant but we did have anything but our cinnamon bun while we were there.…
The road at the campground are gravel with some dirt. The sites are sort of level and there’s pull thrus and some back ins with full hookups. There’s also shade trees, fire pits and a picnic table. The sites are separated by a few trees and shrubs. The people that run the place are friendly and nice. They have a little diner with a small gift shop. Their cinnamon buns are delicious. They have showers and restrooms and a laundry room although we didn’t have the need to use them since we are self contained.
