Hotel's Favourite
It is close to downtown Victoria, 20 minutes and beautiful place. The staff was so welcoming and so kind. We decided to stay one more night than plan, and they switched things around for us. The place was very clean. Never seen that before! It was very quiet also. The products they have in the bathroom are great. You can even purchase them. That says it all. Very comfortable and cheaper than downtown Victoria. It was worth driving there ❤️

We stayed at the Fairways Hotel for 2 nights on a recent weekend trip to the Victoria area. We chose to stay here to be out of the city but also closeby as the hotel is about a 20-30 minute drive to downtown Victoria.
Formerly part of the Westin resort, the Fairways is now operating as a separate hotel which means you get the Westin style room and quality but under a different name. We are not sure if this operates as a hotel and timeshare but it does feel like that.
Since many of the resort amenities we are used to are not available due to COVID, the Fairways Hotel which doesn't charge a resort fee and has limited amenities was exactly what we were looking for. We had a comfortable and clean room with a mini fridge and enough kitchen supplies to make our own breakfasts to enjoy on our quiet balcony with a view of the forest. We actually really enjoyed their toiletries, which reminded us of Aesop knockoffs.
We were also able to access the Goldstream Trail pretty easy and enjoyed that a lot!
If you are planning to stay here, there are few restaurants around but not many so have a plan. We did enjoy the little cafe nearby; great coffee and friendly staff.
As for protocols due to COVID, we appreciate the efforts taken by the staff and management in regards to cleaning, access to hand sanitizer end leaving any items we needed outside of the room (replenish coffee, garbage bags, etc.).
If there is one thing that annoyed us, it is the parking fee; it's not expensive but there is nowhere else to park and no other way to get there but drive. We do get annoyed by resort fees and thus would prefer hotels to include these extra fees in the room rate. Since we booked with Expedia, parking was $10 per night + tax. This is not an issue and more just overall annoyance with all hotels that do this.
A big thank you to Darren for following up and calling when our room was ready as promised (many hotels say they will do this and never do) and to Trevor at the front desk.
We recommend the Fairways Hotel for a weekend getaway to Victoria if you are looking to have access to trails and be able to drive into the city conveniently.

Large rooms that are a great size ifyou are sharing with a friend. Spacious bathroom with a big soaker tub and rain head shower. However there were only 2 cups, 1 pack of coffee and 2 creamers in the fridge for my 4 night stay - my friend got 4 packs of coffee and abowl of creamers in her fridge so think its abit hit n miss with what you get. All of the dishes were mis matched and only 2 of everything in a room for 4 people - not what I’d expect for a hotel of this cost range! They do need a dish cloth and towel in the kitchenette and dishes have to be washed in the bathroom sink. The location is great for golfing and Jacks restaurant is reasonable and the food is OK.

We booked a premier one bedroom suite, which stated it had a bidet which it didn't. Not a big deal but weird for it to say it does if it doesn't. We were on the top floor which was nice but the balcony was not covered at all so with some rain we were unable to sit outside at all. There was also no table, typically my husband and I like to play cards outside so this wasn't possible and seemed odd to have such a big deck and no table. I didn't find the room to be super clean which is disappointing given Covid right now. The bathroom mirror had streaks all over it and the dishwasher was covered in finger prints. We found a kids toy under the bed and also under the bedroom curtains. We gave everything a wipe to be safe. The bed was comfortable but the pillow topper didn't cover the full size of the bed so every morning it was all bunched up. The TVs had no DVD player, we had brought out own just in case but the HDMI outlet was on the back of the TV and very hard to access. The TV also had no options for movie channels or PPV, just strange for a newer hotel to not be equipt with those things. Advertised as Golf course and resort views, considering this is a top tier room, we expected the view to be better than it was, we really had the view of the backside of Jakes Place Pub. The room was quite large, probably the biggest we have had in comparison to other hotels, a lot of it was closet space which would be great for long term stays but not really needed for a weekend stay. Kitchen was nice. At check in we were given no details regarding Covid or any of the hotels policies. Overall just average. Glad we came to try something new but wouldn't say anything special to warrant coming again.

Clean, quiet, comfortable, spacious room, but light on some amenities. For example, no sink other than in the bathroom and single-cup coffee brewing. TV channels were very minimal and "free" parking is public parking (otherwise $10/night). Comfortable beds and furniture, deep tub and rain-head shower were much appreciated. Easily worth the price.

We’ve stayed at Fairways several times - 4 to be exact - and we are always pleased. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the staff is warm and welcoming. If you need anything they are always happy to accommodate. We always stay in a 1 bedroom suite which is huge (approximately 1100 square feet) and has a full kitchen. These suites can also come with an adjoining room that has two queen beds. It’s perfect for two couples travelling together or people with children. We will definitely be back. The only thing we don’t like is that they do charge $10.00 per night for parking.

Our double queen room was great. We were travelling/ golfing with another couple who were in a king suite and we got adjoining rooms…which was fun
Made dinner there our last night
They had a full kitchen
Both suites had lovely decks overlooking the golf course
Beds were comfortable
Amenities very nice
Checkin was a breeze
Front staff friendly
We had the option for parking and opted to park in a secured underground parking lot
Jacks restaurant was right across the street and we had a great late dinner 8 pm after a round of golf
Extensive menu- good food.
Definitely go back

We stayed here a couple of times in the last 2 weeks. The first visit was outstanding, a lovely room on the top floor overlooking the 1st fairway with views of the tee box. The day we checked out I asked if we could have the same room or something on the top floor again when came back with my son as he was really looking forward to staying there. She said sure and she would put it on our reservation. When we arrived for our second stay the front desk person said she didn't have any requests on file and there was no room on the 3rd floor, I explained about our previous trip and she said we should have got here earlier. I asked for a view of the golf course and she rudely said they ALL face the golf course!! I went up to the room and our keys didn't work, so I went back to front desk and she said fine I'll just go up and open it for you and gave me a dirty look. The room she put us in didn't have much view of the golf course and the living area was smaller than previous weeks room. I had to call down to get bedding for the pull out couch and she sighed over the phone. Otherwise it was a nice stay but not outstanding like the first time. I'm not sure we'd stay here again if she answered the phone or know she will be on the front desk.

We were travelling as two couples on a golf holiday and rented a suite that included a lock-off style extra bedroom which gave us complete privacy while allowing for communal meals and card playing and lots of space to entertain.
The prices are super reasonable (especially compared to the Westin) and we received excellent service when asking for extra pillows, dishwasher detergent, towels etc. Even in these crazy covid times, it was an excellent stay and we highly recommend.

This is not the location if your goal is to visit Victoria which is a long drive away but good for golf course. A time share hotel so odd cross between condo and hotel. No amenities-no restaurant, no pool, no fitness. Paid parking. Staff ok not great. Room itself was lovely…large, clean and comfortable with good view although AC unit on balcony was extremely loud interfering with the peacefulness of sitting out there to enjoy surroundings. I personally would only stay here for a special occasion in the area or for golf and even then likely at Bear Mountain Hotel next door.

Dear TaiyasGran, I'm not understanding your comments at all. This reservation was booked on Expedia where you will not find any mention that we have a pool, fitness club, restaurant etc. I'm not sure why you would book a room knowing this then go on a review site and complain about it??
