Please please don’t be put off by some very personal comments and moans below. This albergue is a true oasis on the camino.

I’d visited before in 2019, and thought I’d stop by again.

Lovely and clean, very welcoming hosts and a fabulous fulfilling evening meal made from produce grown in their own garden.

It was a stifling hot night, but the amount of windows gave us some flow of air. What better way to fall asleep than listening to the music of The Beatles and Pink Floyd being played softly and professionally in the garden.
Bliss !!

Best place on the camino so far! Beautiful garden where you can relax, read or think. The place is run by some beautiful people. There is a yoga/meditation room. And the highlight… was the shared meal. Edu cooked healthy and delicious. Fresh bread, just baked brownies, veggie paella. Unbelievably good, and refreshing after one month of french fries and baked eggs on the camino. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous hostel. Staff so welcoming and quick to respond on WhatsApp. Delicious home cooked vegetarian dinner from their garden. Communal dinner under the trees on a long table. The staff sang a song to bless the food. Very special. Clean and comfy. Highly recommend this oasis.

Stopped here for one night on the Camino Frances on the recommendation of a friend who had walked the Camino before. The place is nice and clean. We were tired and hot from a very long day walking and wanted nothing more than to rest, wash and eat. But unfortunately dinner wouldn't be served until the daily yoga class took place which apparently is another whole story in itself. By the time food was finally set out it was well past 8 pm which is crazy for hungry, tired pilgrims. Dinner was very good but the owners and people who work here give off this creepy cult like vibe.

I had the most amazing time in this Albergue. I actually had heard about this place before from pilgrims who were lucky enough to stop by but I couldn't believe them. It sounded too good to be true. The house and the garden are beautiful. You get a real bed (I was alone in my dorm) with real cotton bedsheet, inspiring yoga classes, exquisite vegetarian dinner (which will be a big relief for most vegetarians on the camino who like me, probably had to cook most nights), delicious breakfast (no waking time) and a lot of love from the hospitaleros leaving as a small community of happy people. After spending time in their company, you will believe that a kind, loving and alternative world is possible. Namaste to the owner.

If you like vegan food, yoga and detoxing this place is perfect. It is welcoming, very clean and there is unlimited Rooibos tea. However we were new to the Camino so would have preferred a jug of Sangria after a long days hiking in the sun. Dinner wasn't served until 8.30pm, which would have been ok if we had not been on the road all day. Just before we eventually got stuck into our vegan feast, the owner stopped us from eating, whilst he sang a song and told us to 'feel the hunger'. The pre dinner yoga was well received however and this is a good stop for those looking for something different.

I only stayed one night, but really loved it! The place has a wonderful garden with two cute puppies and cats. Dorm and facilities are clean, food is amazing! Possibly the best vegetarian dinner I had on the Camino. People are super friendly and relaxed! Great place to hang out for a few days!

While walking El Camino,we entered the town of Hospital de Orbigo, and after entering the town we were approached Buy a young lady on a bicycle, and handed a Business card for Albergue Verde to us. We visited the Joe's thing bridge, had a drink and some tapas at the restaurant which overlooks the bridge and Justin fields and discussed what we were going to do for sleeping accommodations. We decided to stay there, and what a pleasant surprise! The room was clean, with an advanced shower system, boy were we glad to see that! Lots of folk music, complementary yoga, and a scrumptious homegrown vegetarian meal which was absolutely delicious, and I'm a carnivor! Wonderful spot we recommend it highly.

Albergue Verde was our first resting place as we started the Camino from Leon by bike. It was a lovely green setting, very tranquil. Beds comfy and staff very friendly. It was clear they really cared about creating a fun, loving environment with music and story telling but it meant a little wait before and after dinner when we had had a long day. The sermon about living in the continual present was funny and interesting, but we were ready for bed long before it ended. Nevertheless I would still recommend this place, it was incredibly beautiful and the staff were so kind and the food was the best on the whole Camino frances.

This is one of my favourite places on the Camino de Santiago. I spent 6 weeks at Albergue Verde as a hospitalera and loved it! Even if you aren't a pilgrim walking the Camino, it is still somewhere to come for serenity, harmony and amazing vegetarian food. Verde as it's fondly know is run with love. You can taste it in the food and feel it in the gardens. They have their own vegetable and herb gardens, including an Ayurveda garden. In the evenings there are sing alongs and guitars. There is a morning and evening class which is the cherry on the top! I'll be back there this year! Even the dorms are lovely and ample showers and toilets. Certainly a place that captured my heart!

I don't remember any private rooms...but the dorm was very nice. Great beds, and not too close together.
