Detailed Reviews
To call this iust a B&B is to do it an injustice - it is by far and away more luxurious, cleaner, better appointed and more welcoming than most, so called, luxury hotels.
Huge bed with heavenly bed linen, superb en suite bathroom with huge fluffy towels, your own private sitting room downstair with satellite TV; i-pod dock and wi-fi - your own front door - even your own downstairs loo + a swimming pool to use with a view of the pyrenees.
And super hosts, Kirk & Sally Ritchie could not have been kinder, more helpful or more welcoming to their lovely home.
We hated to leave and will CERTAINLY return.

Arriving at Clos de Lacalm is like stepping into a world of tranquility. You are made to feel wonderfully welcome and the swimming pool at the end of a hot day is bliss.
Sally and Kirk want you not only to have a lovely holiday but also to share their enthusiasm for the area. They will give you ideas for routes for days out and tell of the hidden gems to visit in the fabulous Tarn region.
If you want a relaxing base to discover this region or just a break from everyday life then we can thoroughly recommend Clos Lacalm

We had only booked for two nights and could definitely have done with more! We have travelled the world and normally stay in hotels, but after this experience will stay in many more B & B's.
Elegant bedroom and bathroom with all the amenities of a luxury hotel, beautiful house and perfect hosts. On any stay there is always something which is less than perfect - we found nothing this time.
The Clos de Lacalm is in a great position for Albi and Cordes and the recommended local restaurants were excellent.

i adore this part of France so, having read so many rave reviews we decided to try it for ourselves. We wanted a place to escape, yet feel "at home" and be in a good location to explore. It scored so well that we stayed an extra few days.
What I loved about the the Clos was the way that you were made to feel at home. Both Kirk and Sally are charming and always there with their tips and information, and yet you feel completely free to do what you want, when you want.
The bedroom is so comfortable and spacious with a place to read overlooking the miles of rolling countryside. Huge shower and goodies! The room is located at one end of the house with its own entrance and delightful sitting room, so you are very private so no wispering is necessary!!. The bed is huge and like a nest with real quality linen.
We just loved taking breakfast outside listening to the sound of the birds and enjoy french country love. Kirk and Sally lucky to have this 365 days a year. The pool looked very inviting so I I even manged a dip. If you want a place to disconnect but be cocooned in such comfort, this is the place to go.
It is perfectly located to explore. Albi with is drop dead beautiful cathedral is a must as is the food market. I was also surprised that the Lot valley was only about 90 mins away, and it is so similar to the Dordogne and utterly breathtaking. At the end of the day it really deal feel like your very coming home.
An absolute must in every sense

We returned last week from an absolutely outstanding two nights in the most beautiful, tranquil bed and breakfast we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. From the very first moment of contact by emails, to our departure, we simply cannot find any fault what so ever! Kirk and Sally are amazing hosts. Nothing is too much trouble, and they certainly went above and beyond the call of duty, in every area. We were welcomed into their lovely abode, and made to feel so very 'at home'. Kirk's previous calling in the running of a 'very well known' hotel establishment has certainly had an influence for good! We would have absolutely no hesitation in awarding them the very highest of accolades and would most definitely recommend anyone to this fabulous place! We must return!

From reading previous reviews, we join a long line of delight from the experience of staying at Clos de Lacalm. Kirk and Sally's background in managing one of the UK's/World's leading hotels shines through in every detail: great comfort and style, pristine decor, tidiness and cleanliness and exquisite breakfasts. But this is their fabulous home and, complete strangers, we were welcomed, seemingly as part of the family with exceptional warmth and kindness. The personal touch was present from Sally's response several months in advance to the first e-mail enquiry and so it continued. Detailed help with travel directions, restaurants and possible activities/outings was supplemented by a loan of bikes to enjoy the vineyard-filled countryside and surrounding hamlets. The well-known attractions of Cordes and Albi's World Heritage Site are very close - (not to mention the extraordinary hand-painted chateau of Monsieur Bistes!) We have experienced 3 nights at an up-market B&B of the highest quality.

My husband & I stayed at Clos de Lacalm earlier this month for 3 days. We arrived late in the afternoon feeling hot and tired after a long day sightseeing and driving. Right from the moment we were greeted warmly by Kirk and shown to our beautiful room by Sally, did we feel comfortable and welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, they were perfect but unobtrusive hosts. Dinner on two nights was at a local restaurant in the neighbouring village as recommended by Sally and on both occasions, the meal was superb. Breakfasts were a treat in the dining room and being unfamiliar with the local area, Sally went above and beyond to assist us with suggestions and clear driving instructions for the day. We would not hesitate to recommend this b & b.

We stayed for 3 nights in the most beautiful and tranquil surroundings. We were welcomed by our hosts Sally and Kirk, who were most helpful in every way - gave us maps of the area, advised on restaurants, and places to visit. As it was the end of our trip and we were travel weary, their welcoming pool and loungers were just what we needed. They even provided a picnic tray for us under the trees, when we were too tired to seek out a restaurant.
The bedroom was beautiful - pure cotton linen. We had our own lounge with TV. Sally served us a delightful breakfast each morning with fresh fruit and yogurt, and the most
delicious croissants. Highly recommended in every way.

This is a very luxurious B&B. It is superb. We arrived later than planned and we just could not do the facilities offered justice. Swim before dinner and/or boule court, walk around the area. Kirk and Sally are fantastic people and made us very feel very welcome. Super bedroom, fresh looking and great style. Excellent soft beds and lovely jack and jill bathroom for us and our daughter. A swim before breakfast starts the day! Breakfast outdoors is wonderful. Warm croissants, juice, jams, bread. The lovely quiet surroundings is as its title - calm. A relaxing place to be and such a shame we only had one day of this great hospitality. Would certainly consider a return visit if we are in the Tarn region again.

After a period of closure due to illness, I was delighted to discover this superb B&B is back in business.
Perfectly situated in the "Golden Triangle" of the Tarn between Albi, Cordes sur Ciel & Galliac, surrounded by vineyards with views of the Pyrenees this elegant house is without doubt the very best B&B I have found in France.
Superb bedrooms with linen sheets; quality bathrooms with lovely fluffy white towels; a swimming pool; a boule court; wifi; your own front door; your own sitting room; lovely walks from the house; excellent breakfasts served in their very "grown up" family dining room; and so quiet (just the call of the occasional nightjar) it is beyond any B&B I have ever visited before.
In conversation with our hosts I discovered they both worked at the very top end on the UK hotel industry, hence the superb attention to detail and kind hospitality.
Cheap it is not, but it is worth every penny (euro)
