We visited in late May 2019. On arrival, a typed note was on the locked door (4:30 pm) to call a phone number (no answer). 2nd paragraph indicated if we could reach no one, to proceed to the local bar 300 yards away (no specific directions) and inquire to the bartender to receive a key. We proceeded there and no record of our reservation was found. That said, the staff at the bar was most accommodating, and we were quickly on our way back to the hotel. A special key gained us entry to one of the three locked doors. At No time during our stay was there ever an answer on the 24 hour (“call us any time for anything you need “) phone line. The room was clean, if small, but was exceedingly hot. There seems to be no way to regulate the temperature and the controls in the room were turned to zero. The in-room heat was off, so we we had no idea where the excessive heat might have been coming from. There was one partial-opening window, and in spite of the outdoor temperature being only 6° we spent a good deal of our time to warm in the room. There appeared to be only four or five other guests in the hotel at this particular time of year. Cleaners forgot to clean our room during our 2-night stay. Given the small number of guests, breakfast was less than ideal. We have enjoyed nothing but amazing breakfasts throughout our stay in Norway but this hotel was the exception. Small individual breakfasts in styrofoam containers awaited each guest in the morning. One hard boiled cold egg. Less than ideal ....needless to say. Even a toaster was not to be found. Our sense was this hotel was not nearly ready to receive guests and should have remained closed until they were prepared. We were completely underwhelmed. Perhaps they are more accommodating during the busy season. …
On a business trip i stayed on this Hotel. Its simple, clean and tidy rooms. Its April and not many wisitors yet and wery quiet as is. The rooms are fine and clean. Its been renovated recently and looks good. There is no restaurant and you get the breakfast delivered in the morning. I had a ocean view and i was lucky with weather so the view was great and sunchine in the room most days.
Was on a business trip, and ended up here because the hotel in Leknes was fully booked. Quite easy to find, located nicely directly across the Coastal Express(Hurtigruten) pier, with lovely sea views. The outside looks a bit worn and gloomy, but the foyer surprised with newly refurbished surfaces and light colours, and accents of wood from old fishermens cabins. Charming. I was told that breakfast was included, but it wasn’t located within the hotel itself, we had to walk 4-5 minutes and eat at a café on the other side of the road. That was a no-go for me, as I was (as mentioned) on a business trip, and I don’t want to make all that effort just to get a snack in the morning before I go to work. The grocery store was actually closer to the hotel, so ended up picking up a bite there instead. The room was tiny, with massive windows, but they faced the wrong way, into a rock instead of towards the sea. Dark interior made it seem even more claustrophobic. Massive desk filled up most of the room. Carpets are a bit dusty, and my sinuses felt congested in in the morning because of this. There’s no mini bar, just an entire bottle of wine with a price tag(450kr a bottle) in a shelf. The bed was soft though. No tv in the room, so this was a major issue for me. The bathroom looked neat but was cramped. No room to put my toiletries. Possibly a drainage problem, as the room was flooded every time I had a shower. Not sure just how safe it is to have a electic cord extender wrapped and hanging from under the bed in free air, but that is what I found when looking. Will probably never go back unless there is a major improvement. …
