The staff were so nice, friendly, welcoming and happy to help. Their friendliness seemed very genuine too. The facilities were wonderful. We really enjoyed our treatments as well as using the gym every morning which was never overcrowded. We managed to do a couple of exercise classes too which were brilliant and we would have done more but it was just too hot :-) The food at breakfast was delicious and bountiful with plenty of options for non-meat eating lactose intolerants like me. Room service was prompt and the restaurant service was great too. The pool near the gym was very good. The only things that could be improved are little things: The larger main pool could be a bit cleaner and better kept. There could be more vegan lunch & dinner options in the restaurants. The bar tenders could all learn the standard cocktails (eg Bloody Mary). Service on the beach was a bit inconsistent (sometimes no-one came).…
Booked a last minute deal for some spring sunshine and although the transfer was a bit longer than ideal, the rest of our stay from that point was absolutely perfect. Room was lovely, kept clean and serviced for our whole stay and great shower to revive you at the end of the day / before dinner. We had a shared private pool which we spent a few days at (lovely to have the option) but because of the time in the season, we had a choice loungers at both of the pools and on the private beach - no need to rush in the morning to get a sun bed!! Half board meant we didn't really eat lunch but the pool side snacks available we delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast and dinner in the buffet restaurant were fantastic - great selection, quality, clean, tidy and the staff were superb. The menus for the A La Carte restaurants didn't really suit our tastes so didn't eat there but the setting looked nice. Sunset cocktails (either at the top of the hotel or at the bar overlooking the bay) was a beautiful way to end the day - especially at happy hour 😁). We'll definitely be back, can't wait already!!…
An unforgettable trip! This was our Honeymoon holiday and we were treated with exceptional service throughout, including a surprise cake and bottle of wine to celebrate our special occasion. Cannot recommend this hotel enough, the team were fantastic, beautiful resort and the food was varied and delicious. We tried the buffet on a couple of nights and enjoyed the dishes. The pool area was well kept, and we particularly enjoyed the " to your sunbed " cocktail service! The reception team deserve a special ahout out for helping with creative ideas for our itinerary and we loved the Jeep Safari that they recommeneded. Overall fantastic and we would love to return!
Our families & group of friends stayed at this resort from Australia 🇦🇺 My daughter had chosen this beautiful place for her destination wedding & we were not disappointed at all. The views are incredible, the hotel clean & comfortable, great food, especially the fish Resturant. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff! So warm welcoming & could not do enough for all of us, just ask & they will go out of their way to serve. The wedding was such a delight & I can’t recommend it higher for a destination wedding. The extras they put on for us the night before the wedding with our private beach party, down to the beautiful flower decorations in the newly married couples room on the wedding night, was just amazing Fantastic private beach, & a special mention to the fitness lady on the fun aqua aerobics class in the mornings, great way to start the day. I’d like to say a special thank you to Anastasia, one of the managers, who was such a delight & was so helpful with all my mother of the bride stresses, welcoming all of the wedding guests, even those not staying at the hotel, allowing them to use all the facilities, organising taxis & even a doctor for the sick groom to help him get through his special day. It was lovely that she was there & all the staff to watch the wedding from the side too!! They even partied with us at the reception & bought all the guests shots!! What a glorious day& whole week!! Thank you all & we will 100% be returning again. Come on Aussies you have to put this on your European bucket list!! 10 out 10 🥰…
Great hotel, staff always very professional and willing to help. Daughter is allergic to nuts, head chef made her a nut free desert every night. Beach party on the Friday night was really well done. No hesitation to return again to this great hotel.
This was a last minute booking, and we had hoped for some sunshine, relaxation, and good food to see us through the winter..... We loved our room, but the promised, and booked, sea view came only after a couple of days, and thanks to the intervention of the customer service team. The room was well-cleaned and serviced. Apart from one night when a power surge set off our door bell at midnight (along with the rest of our block) we slept well and relaxed. The food was excellent, and our half board package was just the job. I'm not sure we would have felt quite the same if we had ended up paying 40 euros per person for the evening meal. We had hoped to be able to walk along to Panorma, but we quickly realized that the state of the local road, lack of pavements, and speeding traffic meant that we wouldn't be doing this. We caught local buses and the little train, and both were straightforward. and easy to use. The hotel is geared up for sunshine and good weather. When we had 4 days of rain and storms mid-holiday we badly felt the lack of variety on the hotel TV. Other nationalities seemed to have some sort of light entertainment offering. We had BBC World. I think this lack of variety is something the hotel could easily address - particularly at the end of the season when weather is not guaranteed. My tips if you are thinking of booking this hotel: 1. We were glad we had packed our cafetiere and a supply of coffee, as the hotel morning coffee was expensive and of average quality. A machine in the room had no instruction leaflets so we had no idea how to use it. 2. We didn't want to hire a car this holiday, but really the hotel is remote, and without a car your explorations are quite limited. 3. If you're travelling at the end of the season, pack plenty of books. There's not much else to do....…
The Royal Blue Hotel is located directly on the north coast facing the Cretan and Aegean Sea. Equipped with different - bungalow-like - rooms, which all have their own entrance. We had a room with direct, wonderful sea view, which I can only recommend. The room was very clean and lacked nothing. From the welcome to the service in all areas such as breakfast buffet, a la carte restaurant, spa, bars, pools and beach, we encountered only very friendly, courteous and always cheerful staff. The food, especially in the a la carte restaurant Elia, was excellent. Unfortunately, the seafood restaurant Asterias was no longer open (end of October). All in all, we really felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay to the fullest. We can really recommend this hotel.
We got married in Crete in July and after finding a really good deal for the Royal Blue, we decided to return to Crete for a last minute honeymoon in October. We booked a garden room view with half board. On arrival to the Royal Blue we were greeted with welcome drinks and a refreshing cold flannel. We were very kindly upgraded to a sea view room and received a complimentary bottle of prosecco and some sweet treats to aid in the celebration of our honeymoon. The hotel, the grounds, the amenities and the views are all brilliant. Everything is very clean and of high quality, the staff are super friendly and attentive. The private beach cove is gorgeous and very peaceful. The saltwater pools are lovely and quiet, but freezing! Very refreshing but would be nice for some of the smaller ones to be heated. We had a couples massage in the spa and it was a lovely experience, the spa pool was cold though and a couple of the features did not work, this was a real shame as we did have to pay extra to access this. The gym facilities and free classes like yoga are amazing and great touch. Free use of tennis, football and basketball courts too. The food was really nice quality, the breakfast and dinner buffets are enormous and lots of choice. Sometimes a little repetitive, but this could be due to it being the end of season when we went. The only slight negatives are as follows: some aspects of the hotel seemed a little tired, a few missing tiles in pools, some functions not working in the spa etc. Nothing major, just odd little cosmetic bits that could do with sorting to really enhance the 5 star experience. The drinks are very expensive, as is the food at lunch and in the a la carte restaurants*. Maybe full board would be a more cost effective choice especially with it being quite far to travel to restaurants in near by towns/cities especially if you don't have a hire car and have to rely on buses/taxis. *There was meant to be two restaurants available for dinner, however on arrival we were told the seafood restaurant was closed. Which was a massive shame as it has great views and a lovely little pool and cave you can dine in. We ate in the one that was open and to be honest the food was just okay, there was quite a bit not available on the menu and it was also expensive especially for what it was. All in all, we absolutely loved our time at the Royal Blue. We felt we were able to fully relax and chill out in this beautiful place and will definitely return! …
This is an excellent resort. 1. The staff are lovely - very helpful and attentive, and genuinely proud of the resort. 2. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. We had a garden sharing pool (which lacks a bit of privacy so go for no pool if you mind that) and a private pool which was bliss. 3. Facilities were fantastic. Everything worked well. The main pool/beach was set up with comfy loungers, and service was at the end of a bell. The added extras (especially spa!) were really worth treating ourselves with. Tennis court was a bit basic, but fine for a knock around. If you are serious about tennis take your own racket! 4. Food. We had 1/2 board, (which we never do) and the buffet was excellent, with lots of variety and Cretan delicacies. We didn't regret eating there regularly. I was worried about the location so near to the road, but you can't hear it in the resort. I haven't enjoyed a hotel stay as much in many years. Genuinely highly recommended!…
This hotel is absolutely fabulous first thing you notice is the staff are super friendly and cannot do enough for you the hotel itself is super clean and in a perfect location to relax with everything you could possibly want within the complex. The room was fabulous and cleaned everyday with towels changed daily overlooking the sea and 2 of the hotels numerous pools. There are a number of restaurants within the complex but we only ate in the buffet restaurant as the food was so good we couldn't bring ourselves topmusic during breakfast considering the setting probably the best touch we have seen in any hotel we ever stayed. Are flight wasn't till 10 pm and I went to reception to ask if it would be possible to pay for the room for the day I was told I didnt need to pay and this was a gift to us from them. All in all absolutely amazing place and we will be back. Ps I never write reviews but in this case I had to.…
