The stay here was fantastic. Amazing game cruise where we got up close with hippos which was amazing. That was great. It was quite hot when we visited in November so definitely pack some bushmans/aeroguard however there are mozzie nets in the rooms. Staff were fantastic and have a great knowledge of the area. Nothing beats sunset drinks whilst watching...

Wonderful location with great staff and very cozy rooms. Loved the elephant in camp in the early morning, the look-out deck and the sunsets. Clive, Andre and ? are fantastic hosts. The game drives and boat cruises were raved about and the guides are excellent with good game sightings.

2 nights spent here were not the best. The rooms themselves are adequate although in our room the bath mats were dirty and previous occupants' rubbish was still in the waste basket. The viewing platform, whilst giving fantastic views, felt somewhat rickety in places. The dining experience is poor with mismatched and chipped crockery and glassware. Breakfast on our first...

We arrived in small boats along the Kwando river, which is full of hippo and crocodiles! We were greeted by the proprietor at the central meeting area, beneath a large sausage tree where there was a wood fire surrounded by a circle of chairs. The chalets are delightfully rustic, with no glass in windows, only mesh, with canvas blinds that...

Together with 12 Ford Ranger pick-ups, our Portuguese group of the jeep safari "9th Raid Kwanza Sul" enjoyed the view from the top of the restaurant, which is amazing. The food is excellent and the service, too. The game drives in the afternoon has guaranteed a lot of wild animals. Watching a couple of elephants leaving the jungle in order...

I have been visiting Mazambala Island Lodge since 2002, my first stay. I have returned in 2006, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015 – yes, I love it there! If you want a simple, peaceful, real African experience the staff and Andre, the owner, will make it happen. The lodge is set on an island in the Kwando (fyi, currently Namibia’s...

I overstayed in this lovely lodge on the river of Kwando. The owners, Stephanie and Johannes are very kind and helpful. They are bus on renovating the lodge so a lot of awesome improvements are in progress. The chalets are spacious and clean, and you will enjoy the braai cooked by them and the chats around the fire. Reccomended

You pass the campsites on your way to the Lodge. Shocking to see the waste dump of the camping sites right along the road to the Lodge. It only takes a match to burn the garbage. The road to the Lodge passes through beautiful wetlands, however littered with plastic and garbage all along. Sad that none of the "take" is put...

Stayed for 2 nights (unfortunately) with a tour group. The rooms, common room and grounds look totally neglected. Not clean at all. Dinner was good, breakfast very basic. There is a pool, but it's not very inviting due to the water color and lounging chairs are very dirty. Special bathing towels are not provided. Safari in the nearby National park...
