A wonderful and beautiful place to stay in Santana. Peaceful location with stunning hillside views and very comfortable and clean rooms. Stayed in the 3 bedroom villa which had 2 bathrooms and plenty of room with a private terrace with seating and hammocks....ana provided a wide selection for breakfast and within walking is a choice of restaurants

We stayed in a villa for one night. The location was perfect for exploring north Madeira, pretty town of Santana and morning hike to Pico Ruivo. We found the parking easily in front of the property. Our accommodation had a good size bedroom with the table and kitchenette. The bathroom was also a good size. Everything was very clean. From the bedroom we had an access to the private balcony with the beautiful view. The setting of the villa is stunning with the surrounding well maintained garden . Breakfast was served in the nearby dining room. It was simple but a good quality.

It would be quite hard for me to imagine better holidays than those we had with ''Casas do Pomar''. Everything was absolutely wonderful. Our own place where to escape with beautiful garden - very very friendly family run business with personal touch.
Since we were looking for more relaxed holidays this was a perfect choice. Located in Santana 20min (by car) from capital city Funchal, 10min from Faial (where you can find 2 man made beaches) and right next to one of the most beautiful Levada walks up in area called Quemadas. Santana seems to be very peaceful place to be, no big city rush, no factory like shopping but at the same time close to everything that you can wish for. Local supermarket is just down the street (some 20min walk), easy access. Ivo takes care about things around houses and he is very willing to help with almost everything - if you don´t have a car he can take you paces for very good prices, explaining and giving some view in culture of Madeira - great person and great staffs member around ''Casas do Pomar''. Of course I have to mention Sophie and Ivo´s father as well - whole family welcomed us with opened arms and I could´t not possibly as for more. They were purely excellent!
We stayed for 9 nights in ''Casas do Pomar'' and we both - me and my partner agreed that these were our absolutely best holiday. Thank you so much, without you it would´t be possible.

Me and my girlfriend stayed there for 9 days and it was perfect in every way. It is family run and so friendly. Not only personal and friendly service but are all also willing to help u in every way to have the perfect holiday. If u need a ride, no problem. Non tourist and tourist tips, no problem. Local supermarket to fill up fridge, no problem. Anything, no problem!
Our house was amazing, kitchen, lounge, bedroom and a private garden with a hammock. Immaculate condition and wonderful house keeping(they even wash the dishes for you hehe)
New air con in both living room and bedroom, good tv and nice bath and shower. Great maintenance in every way with everything you need!

We had wonderful breakfast everyday in our private garden in the sun. Fresh baked bread daily simply hung on our door handle in the morning, homemade jam made from fresh strawberries, yogurts, juices, cheeses + more replaced daily if needed. Also has a nice mini bar ;)

We had local food, great suggested trips and a great tour of the capital Funchal and more for a amazingly fair price... And it was personal and fun thnx to Ivo, the manager, he is a great guy!!!

I have traveled alot but this holiday was one of the best holidays so far thnx to the wonderful people at Casa de Campo do Pomar and their efforts to make everything perfect for us.
Be sure to ask for the local "Spitada" beef from the coolest butcher around, Osvaldo, the local drink called "Poncha" (available with the best possible ingredients at your own bar made by Ivo) and dont forget to say hi to Cheetah once there!

All in all, if u want a private, personal, incredibly nice holiday with help and options from the locals then go there.
This is nearly satisfaction guaranteed!

Thank you Casa de Campo do Pomar for the best holiday and I know I will be back next year and look forward to it!

We stayed at Casas do Pomar for 2 nights. We rented one of the 'apartments', which was a cute house with 2 floors, which included a living room/dining area, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a balcony with a view!

Very peaceful place, the staff had a lot of local advice for us, discounts to some local restaurants, and even organised an airport transport for us. Delicious breakfast was included in the rental (inclusive of homemade traditional bread delivered to our door every morning! The bread was literally still warm and delicious!).

The staff were so friendly and helpful. We got everything we needed, great help, great suggestions and great attitude.

Absolutely recommend for anyone to stay there for as long as you can!

This woukd be perfect in the summertime. Lovely private houses spread along little pathways. Booked knowing that in november it may be musty and cold. Got what i expected; torrential rain outside, no heating in the room meant we were cold and had a mildewy smelling room. But it was a big room, had a serviceable kitchenette, with a lovely little terrace that would have been perfect had the weather been less stormy. The owner was very friendly and the morning bread delivery was nothing short of amazing. The bread lasted us all day and was delicious! For the price it was very good value but by no means luxurious.

We booked in Casa de Campo do Pomar mainly because most other rural places in the Santana area did not offer an option to accommodate a family of 4. We enjoyed our 4 nights stay very much and have only good things to say about the place and the family that owns it. The cottages are situated in a very beautiful and convenient area for exploring the north part of the island. The cottage that we stayed in was well equipped for self-cooking and nicely spaced for a family of two children. The owners of the place were very friendly and helpful with advice about walking itineraries. They even offered to give us rides to trailheads when needed. The bread loafs that they make for breakfast are excellent.

My friend and I stayed here when we were driving around the island. Everyone gets their own little casa. Outside there is a patio with a hammock. It was a little chilly, even with both of the room heaters on.

They leave a loaf of bread hanging on your door for breakfast. There is already yogurt, cheese and meat in the fridge.

There were some cute little cats that kept trying to get into the room.

It's a nice place to stay.

We stayed there 3 nights. We had a cute garden with nice view. It's calm and relaxing at Casa do Pomar. Very nice and friendly hosts, Steve and Mónica picked us up at the supermarket and gave us lifts when needed. They gave good advices for treks and how to continue our trip by local bus around Madeira. Whenever needed we could ring a bell and one of both appeard, also just to chat a little. We also could give our laundry to wash. The house was clean and they cleaned it up every day. The house itself is cold but with air-condition it's possible to heat it up. Wifi was almost always working well. The location is perfect to start hikes. Also nice place for families. We would come back!!
