We purchase wine from an Italian producer Giordano. With one delivery was a brochure with discounted holidays to Italian resorts. We chose Campoverde and were only disappointed with the beach. So shallow only fit for small children to swim!! However there are so many lovely little sandy beaches going south towards San Foca.we had plenty of choice only minutes away. Sea was like a tepid bath!!
The self catering accommodation was spacious but we took breakfast in the resort restaurant and sometimes evening dinner too. It was flexible so we could eat out or look after ourselves. It had all the usual swimming pool etcetc.
Nearby Lecce is an historic town with Roman ruins etc, nice shops and restaurants. so there's plenty to see and do.
We're going back in 2017. English speakers beware. The resort is 100% Italian families and couples, but the reception staff speak some English so you can get by! Wifi in reception only

Campoverde Village is sourronded by Mediterranean vegetation of a protected oasis, between Aleppo pines and eucalyptus trees that spread their fragrance throughout the village. The privileged location, just steps from the sea, the wide spaces for activities and the luxuriant nature, make Campoverde Village an ideal choice for families and young people. The village covers an area of 8 hectares and consists of various types of apartments, a large and well-equipped sports center and a private beach. Campoverde Village is located on the Adriatic coast of Salento, in San Cataldo, just 12 km from the city of Lecce, 15 km from Torre dell’Orso and 30 km from Otranto.
