My girfriend and I felt really at home at Dijembe. Great accommodation and amenities. We loved the shower outside. We met some awesome people and a goat called Bazz. We would definitely return for another awesome adventure. Oh, & thanx for the pancakes.

I stayed at Dijembe for 2 nights a couple of weeks ago and I wish I could have stayed longer. The hostel is really nice and clean with loads of hammocks and a fire area where everyone gathers so its great to meet people. The dinners are great and really cheap and there's free pancakes for breakfast. But most of...

The hostel is a bit older, but the nice vibe definately made up for this! The owner is very nice and it's quite cheap. You can have dinner at the backpackers with everyone (since there's not really much going on in Stormsriver) and bake your own pancakes in the morning. Furthermore it's not far from Tsitsikamma NP.

Had a great night stay, wish I stayed for longer. The vibe was great, atmosphere was relaxing.Brad and Helena made me feel so welcome, good value for money. The dinner they prepared was delicious (specially the potato bake and beer bread). Adorable pets that are loving. A must stop in the garden route.

Best place to chill, relax and meet some great people. So much to do in the area and the bungee jump should not be missed. Also river tubing was so much fun. Definitely recommend staying here. There are private rooms which are great if you don't want the dorm.

My first bad review and it had to be for this place. To be honest I stayed there a while back so things may have improved and perhaps in a short stay while keeping busy going to the bungy or tubing you don't pick up on some things. I stayed there a week, the first days were okay as I...

Usually I never visit the same place twice but after a memorable visit in 2008 I returned in 2013 to find the same fantastic atmosphere, cool chilled out staff and a hostel packing more character than most other hostels I'v been to combined, not to mention a delicious complimentary breakfast to get you going in the morning. I'v seen that...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
As you walk into Dijembe you become a part of what this homely and sustainable lodge's name promises: a circle of friends. Handmade hammocks, recycled building materials, fresh mountain water and small details like the 'frog city' which protects little amphibians in the wild green camping garden, prove the passion of the green Dijembe team. Respecting the Khoisan ancestors, Dijembe not only invites its guests to drumming and dances, but also preserves their heritage by including and strengthening the local community. Visit the local township with its art shops and taverns. Bounce through the National Park and explore nature on foot, affordable mountain bikes or on the backs of Dijembe's horses - or book some tubing. End the day with a wholesome organic dinner and bread from the stone pizza oven, then star gaze from the jacuzzi on the candle-lit deck. ... more   less
