We had a wonderful time at Agriturisimo Il Poggio! We used an RCI exchange for a one bedroom apartment. We were on the second floor and was perfect! We were unsure of how we would like the mandatory half board (breakfast/dinner) but we felt well worth the price. They produce their own wine which was delicious (we had several cases shipped home) and reasonable. Four course dinners and you are given a menu at breakfast with several options to choose from. The location is rather secluded so it was nice to eat in each evening. Eduardo and Simone at the front desk were fabulous and helped us with our daily excursions. Eduardo recommended touring Castello Banfi (about an hour drive) and we loved it! We ended up shipping several cases of wine home. A rental car is really a must here but the drives to nearby towns and cities is beautiful and the driving is fairly easy. We were there 6.18-25 and the flowers were beautiful! Confederate jasmine blooming everywhere along with roses, lavender and hydrangeas. The resort is exactly as depicted in photos, only more beautiful! The view from the terrace where dinner is served is breathtaking and we enjoyed watching the sunset each evening. This stay finished up a 17 day adventure throughout central and southern Italy and was the perfect finish to a fabulous trip. There are two swimming pools to enjoy and also an equestrian center where you can take lessons or take a trail ride. I loved the rustic apartments with tile floors, wooden beams on the ceiling and pretty lace curtains on the windows that opened inward. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and even a midweek change of sheets! I would highly recommend this resort!…
