Since the 17th century cattle grazed and tobacco was grown at La Grace now known as Escapade. In 1991, after a long period of dilapidation, my father purchased the farm. It took two years of hard work, with the help of many to renovate the farm into a beautiful guests house. Ever since, Escapade has offered those who stay here privacy and calm in a rural, yet luxurious environment.

I was starting to wonder where the hotel was going to be situated....after being routed off the main road near a retail park and a railway line - not quiet the rural idyll I was expecting.

But, once we reached the equestrian centre and turned into the hotel somehow the noise and rest of the world just melted away.

OK, so the room was pretty basic. But in peak holiday season it was a steal - fantastic value for money. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had a very enjoyable afternoon dipping in and out of the large swimming pool. Just what you need in 30 degree heat.

We only stayed for one night and couldn't be bothered to drive into Ste Foy. So we ate at the hotel. We were totally surprised by the quality of our supper. It was sublime. We have already recommended this little place to friends who live locally - they had never thought to try it. What a gem. This represents excellent value for money for the rooms - the food though is in another class all together. This was local regional cooking at it's best.

We regretted leaving and wish we had been better organised - we would love to have stayed aother few days.

A delightful 'Logis de France' hotel . M et Mme Peyrote are very hospitable and both speak excellent English. The small hotel has 12 quaint and comfortable rooms, a pool and a charming dining room. The food is excellent and is all local produce. M Peyrote takes pride in his cuisine and his passion for the area is clear. We really enjoyed our stay

Come here for the food and great service. The hotel (I think a converted tobacco farm building) is run by an enthusiastic chef and his English wife. The rooms are OK, although my friend had one of those "scalding/freezing shower" experiences, so don't expect luxury, but for this price that's not surprising. (We paid 52 euros for the room excluding breakfast.) It's the service and food that make your stay enjoyable. The chef was evidently passionate about his art and was good at recommending accompanying wine and telling us about the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and liked the feeling of being somewhere authentic rather than in a chain. Try the chocolate parfait if it's on the menu!

We stayed here at the beginning of March. We had a lovely time. Our hosts, Marc and Nicole are very welcoming and extremely helpful. We ate there whilst we stayed at L'Escapade and the food is wonderful and locally sourced. Marc is a great chef who came and explained about our meals to us every night - which we loved - as we enjoy our food. On our second night, Marc came out and asked us what we fancied to eat and suggested several things to us - I chose Ox cheeks and my husband chose confit of duck - they were both delicious!! To top the meal off - Marc gave me an assiette gourmand and my husband had cheese - FAB!!

Our room was great - it was room number two and it was a twin bedded room. The room was comfortable and clean - we popped out to see the pool which looked great - although it was a bit cold for a dip. L'escapade is in a wonderful setting - quite and tranquil whilst still being close to lots of attractions and towns. We will definitely be going back!! (And soon!)

Marc and Nicole are as friendly as everyone says and make you feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble. I had delicious vegetarian food prepared for me on each of the three nights that I stayed which is such a lovely find in France. The restaurant hummed each evening so I think that Marc cooks a pretty good steak as well!
There is a lovely swimming pool too. Rooms are simple but spotless with homemade jam, yoghurt, fruit and bread for breakfast. Highly recommended.

We found this hotel by chance in June 2013 en route to our holiday home in the Languedoc. By turning off the Autoroute at St Andrea, past Libourne and heading inland towards Bergerac you not only get a scenic drive past the famous vineyards but there is the added bonus off not having to tackle the Autoroute around Bordeaux. Hotel L'Escapade is very convenient and relaxing stop. There is a very warm welcome from the owners Nicole and Marc. The rooms are spacious, the pool a lovely start to our holiday on a hot day AND the food is wonderful. I am not a meat eater but this was not a problem even at very short notice. Wine s very reasonably priced whether you choice a carafe of local wine or a bottle. Theres is the choice of eating inside or out as you wish and according to the season and weather conditions. Breakfast was equally delicious. This will now be our regular twice yearly start to our holidays further south. When I retire in the not too distant future we will certainly be spending a few days there to visit the local area.

I have been a very long standing customer of L'Escapade in Port Sainte Foy close to Bergerac and I have to say that the owners Nicole and Marc have always been fantastic hosts. I have recently come back after a long time away from the region and the place is as superb as it then. The welcome and friendly service always there from the time you call the hotel to when you leave. I am so looking forward to coming back! It was great seeing you again.

A warm welcome with a drink on the terrace on arrival before an enjoyable meal. First class hospitality, we wish we could have stayed longer to use the swimming pool. This hotel offers excellent value, worth a detour. Need to check location on the Logis web site,it was not entirely accurate when we booked

Booked through the Logis web site and once we got the correct address and arrived at the hotel we were pleasantly suprised. For the price we were not expecting anything special but our room and bathroom were very acceptable and the setting of the hotel was on a delightfully quiet road.
We had a very enjoyable dinner served outside by a charming waitress who was keen to practice her English!
After a good nights sleep we had an excellent breakfast, again in the open air and departed for Saumur.
The bill was just over 150 euros which we considered very good value.

Having discovered this wonderful place we made a detour for a one night stay both on the way to the Languadoc and on the way back. Marc and Nicole could not be more accommodating. They make a big effort to make you feel welcome. I don't eat meat but that is not problem. They suggest several other delicious alternatives all of which turn out to be wonderful. They serve a range of wines and a good very reasonably priced house wine which we always choose. The rooms themselves are spacious and very good value for money and there is a good sized outdoor pool. There is ample outside parking and they will store your bikes safely upon request. This hotel is well located for walking, cycling and visiting numerous tourists attractions. We are already looking forward to the next visit when they open again in the spring.
