Got back from my second trip to Chateau Des Vigiers. Flew into Bergerac..think of a run way with a big large warehouse as the terminal. Landed and in the hire car within half an hour….a record! Great hotel in my view . 27 holes of golf- some really pretty holes especially the finishing ones in front of the bars. Fine...

The setting of this place is just about the only thing that can be complimented there is a gorgeous terrace that overlooks the golf course. However this is no reason to prioritise this place for a holiday. There is a silly control freak owner who runs the place like a concentration camp, and radiates the attitude that you are lucky...

Excellent rooms in the Dependence Suite, comfortable and well equipped with plenty of space. In both restaurants the food and service are superb. The experience is enhanced by the Golf and Spa facilities. The only thing that lets it down is the content and service of breakfast. Having stayed in several of the SLH Group 's hotels in France and...

Stayed 7 nights in a Junior Suite. Fantastic room with all comfort needed supplied. Arrangement included golf and half board. The hotel has two restaurants. Brasserie La Chai has a simple and attractive menu and has good service. The terrace overlooks the nicest part of the place, with the front of the Chateau and the nice lake in front of...

I have on several occasions had lunch here and have always tried to have Easter Lunch here as the buffet is exceptional. On one occasion my young daughter had her birthday on the same day and the staff made a point of presenting her with an ice cream gateau with sparklers. She felt special all day and still remembers the...

Two adjoining rooms in the annexe, very clean and modern. This area had it own swimming pool, gym and eating area for breakfast. Could not fault those facilities - clean and very quiet. We were the only people at breakfast with kids, and very much felt we should not have been there! Also got very annoyed when told by reception...

When I travel I like to stay at hotels with history and all the flavor of the area. The Chateau Des Vigiers had that for me. First of all you should know this is a out of the way location with a golf course built around it. When you turn down the road and see it for the first time...

This place really fails to deliver on a wonderful setting. We booked a late deal through the internet, albeit direct with the hotel (so no third party involved) which gave us a discounted rate on a standard room - which was nice, given that the normal rate for a standard room should have been €195 per room per night (we...

A beautiful chateau, in a gorgeous location overlooking vineyards (and the golf course!). We stayed 2 nights and our room was excellent. Swimming pool was perfect, with sufficient comfortable loungers. There was, however, no pool service, which was a shame as it wasn't really an option to get a bottle of water or quick drink or snack when you fancied...
