My booking was cancelled by this terrible hotel with NO valid reason. The reason given by the hotel is that their attempt to pre-authorise or charge my credit card was rejected. However, when I called my bank, they told me that they could see absolutely NO attempt of this in their record. So basically this hotel lied to their customers!!!

Decent room & breakfast for a nice over-night stop, clean & functional, bathroom small and no wardrobe, so really an over-night stopping hotel, close to the road network.Reception is only open at certain times, but you can access your room code. We did ask for a room with a decent view and instead of a lakeside view we had a lovely view of the motorway and van park

Hotel was good, we chose to stay here which seemed to be the same for others (Guns n Roses concert). It was quite far out from the city centre so the Uber’s did cost a bit, therefore we do think we should of paid our more to stay in the centre. The other weird but was that you checked in through a machine but could only pay through card and not cash (if reception was not open). There was people around if you needed help and 24 hour support call.

This hotel gives you a very accessible place to stay and is quiet. It was clean but the service was lacking. There are no restaurants within walking distance. We booked ourselves in during the afternoon and didn’t see any staff until the next morning. We arrived at the dining area for a self serve breakfast, passing the receptionist on the way - she was chatting on the phone and didn’t look up. The breakfast was sparse and fairly uninteresting with sloppy eggs and greasy bacon. The coffee pot was almost empty and we had to top up our cups with hot water to make it drinkable. We had finished eating before the receptionist came and asked for our room number to see if we had booked breakfast. Every other Band B hotel we have stayed in asked before we ate. That afternoon we returned to the hotel and found a young lady outside who had booked by phone but could not use her card and nobody was answering the intercom. Another couple were asleep in the front of their car. We were asked to pay for the lady’s stay with our card and she reimbursed us in cash as she was desperate to reach her room. The second morning the receptionist was checking her computer when we went for breakfast - no greeting from her. The food was just as mediocre and again no coffee, only enough eggs for one of us and the bacon was cold. Another diner had to ask her to produce more coffee and we were not asked for our room number. The biggest problem was the “drain type” odour in our room and despite a big bed, only 2 tiny pathetic pillows. We both experienced the worst two nights sleep on a hard bed and no head support we have had in any French hotel. Despite the handy location for the motorway we would not use this hotel again.

We've stayed in many these hotels and this is one of the best for location and staff. We have a dog so finding somewhere to walk is essential. Just behind the hotel is a small lake which is easy to walk around. But better yet is the grand lake which is just 5 mins away by car. There you can walk around the lake. Our dog had a few swims in there as it was hot. It can be quite busy and there is a no dog exclusion zone at the beach area. But all in all very good. Staff were friendly and helpful- spoke good English. It's a good 10 minutes into the main area by the quai and a short walk to the mirror water area outside the palace. So yes. I'd go again which is saying a lot!
