We have stayed with Greg & Belinda several times, the latest for 8 nights. They are great hosts. The Inn is very old but has been well maintained and modernized. The well kept grounds and many flower beds are a pleasure to be enjoyed especially in June and early July when the flowers are all in bloom. It is located in a quiet rural area right beside the Bay of Fundy and just a short drive from Digby. Though there are just 2 of us, we have stayed in the large family suite located on the top of the Inn both times as we enjoy the abundant space, the nicely equipped kitchen, the private deck and the expansive ocean view.

Most travellers are very likely to find a stay of even 1 night an experience to be very favourably remembered for a long time.

Harbourview Inn opened in 1899 as a genteel summer resort. Greg and Belinda Metcalf have renovated the inn and operated it since 2020. It is still a mixture of old and new, enlivened by Greg’s paintings from his time spent in Africa. Our room, on the second floor, was smallish, but quite adequate for a one-night stay. It looked out over the gardens of, in June, splendid irises, and bird feeders. The queen bed was firm and most comfortable. There was plenty of closet space, but little work space. A second chair was much needed. The bathroom was dated but immaculate.
Wifi was fast and protected.
Breakfast was downstairs in the porch, very efficiently served at a busy time. Sausages, croissant and scrambled eggs were the single choice, although there was provision for dietary needs. Local jams supplemented the attractive plate.
Parking was on a paved surface right behind the inn, with a back entrance to carry in luggage.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Old world charm coupled with first class service. The owners were warm and friendly and very helpful. The room had all the amenities we needed and the location was great for whale watching in Brier Island and to catch the ferry to St. John. . You do have to drive into Digby for an evening meal but it is only about 15 minutes and is straight forward. The breakfast was the best we have had in Canada so far, a cooked one as opposed to a continental one.

To the owners of the Harbourview Inn, Belinda and Greg: Please forgive my tardiness in doing this review. I have had some medical problems that slowed me down (no excuse).
For the entire month of June 2022, my wife and I did a driving tour of the East Coast of Canada and in doing so, we racked up over 7,500 Km on my SUV.
What a great trip this was. For the most part, we stayed in B n B's / Family Style Inns and we loved them all!. The East Coast of Canada has so many beautiful B n B's / Inns, that are so beautifully finished, full of character, full of history, complete privacy and owners that have such pride in what they have to offer.
All that being said, The Harbourview Inn was the last stop on our circumferential tour of the entire coastline of Nova Scotia because it was just 15 minutes from the Digby Rose Ferry that was going to take us across the Bay of Fundy to St. John New Brunswick and onward to Ontario.
When we were signing in at the Harbourview Inn we met the owner Belinda, who is a world traveler from South Africa and had settled in Smiths Cove Nova Scotia to develop this beautiful Inn.
It was like meeting an old friend and we stood there and talked to her for almost an hour before we went to our suite. This property is huge, bigger than any other B n B/ Inn we stayed in before. This property has large acreage, walking trails, an in ground pool, a tennis court, plenty of parking, smoke free, great staff, peace and serenity, competitively priced and a view of Smiths Cove that is to die for.
When we went to our suite , my wife sat in one of the parlour chairs and commented "this is a place I could spend a week in" and she was right. This was the end of our trip and we did not expect this. The suite was beautiful and full of character (see the photos) and hopefully we will return to it in the near future. We had a peaceful and good nights sleep, we had a great breakfast and headed out for a ride across the Bay of Fundy on the Digby Rose to St. John New Brunswick.
Our next stop was Edmunston New Brunswick at the only accommodation available that was a place you would not want to lay your head down. The worst part of our trip!
I would highly recommend the Harbourview Inn, it offers you everything you would expect in an Inn and more. Congratulations to Belinda and Greg, you are doing a wonderful job and should be very proud of your effort.

This place is a gem. After staying in mainstream hotels for eight nights it was the home away from home we didn't know we needed! The host is down to earth and funny and you instantly feel like you already know him from somewhere. The breakfast was delicious and the pool is immaculate and large! Dinner in nearby Digby by the Harbour was delicious. Our host recommended Fundy Restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We would love to return here if we are ever in the area again. Our only regret was that we only booked one night!

I stayed only one night at the Harbourview Inn - wish I had longer in the area. The Inn is wonderful - comfy, VERY clean, and the rooms are very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the options for heating and cooling were very good. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was terrific - coffee, tea, eggs, sausage, croisant, jams and butter, fruit juice, yogurt, and fresh fruit. The dining area is sunny and bright and VERY clean. I highly recommend this Inn and hope to return next season for a longer stay.

We stayed at the Harborview Inn, a lovely little Inn nestled in Smiths Cove, NS September 5-7 , 2020 , upon our arrival Greg "Innkeeper" met us with a fantastic smile and was very excited to show us around and explained everything. The Inn has a very clean outdoors pool Unheated, tennis court , play area for small children and a couple mile long beach, great for venturing out on the clam flats. Our room was spacious very clean comfy bed, sofa, bar fridge, coffee maker TV. Great hot water morning showers. Front porch with comfortable furniture awesome for watching the sunset over the Fundy sharing a bottle of wine. The Inn is located approximately 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Digby , Gotta eat at the Crows nest!!!! Seafood platter $21 huge order clams and chips $18.

You are met in the morning with a warm British smile and accent and hot coffee and tea, scrambled eggs with sausages toast, fresh berries and yogurt for Breakfast.

We also enjoyed the whale watching with Mariner Cruises Brier Island. It's a bit of a drive 1.45 hours including two short ferry rides . We had the 4:30 PM sailing and it was fantastic. The crew "Amy" loves to share her knowledge with the guests. You are required to wear your mask during the entire trip, social distancing is a hard thing to do on a 50 foot boat with 38 guest. Humpbacks feeding, breaching these mammals are something to see in person. Hint, when you board the boat sit on the starboard side, same side as the skipper, he likes to keep the whales on his side so he can see were they are. The crew will ask people to change sides some do but some don't only bad thing however they do allow 8 people at a time to go above on the observation deck for some awesome sights and pictures.
If you are looking for a great staycation idea, the two night package with the whale watching is a must at the Harborview Inn

Greg was a good host and enjoyed a great rapport with Irene who served breakfast - juice, fruit and a warm dish of eggs, pancakes, bacon & maple syrup was a delicious way to celebrate Canada Day. Room 1 was large and comfortable with a small bathroom. Restaurants in Digby were a 15 minute drive away. A good B&B which we would recommend.

In June I had the pleasure of staying at the historic Harbourview Inn B&B in Smith's Cove. It's the perfect location to explore some of the beautiful landmarks in the area - only a short walk from the Annapolis Basin (we could see it from the window in our room) where there's a sand bar that unearths at low tide, allowing you to wander over to Bear Island. A short walk along the rail trail starting just by the Harbourview that takes you to an abandoned lighthouse. Just up the road is Digby, with so many amazing seafood restaurants (we did take out and ate while watching the sunset at Culloden).

Greg and Belinda were so welcoming! They have so many fascinating stories, and are just a pleasure to chat with. The breakfast was incredible! Just thinking about my eggs benedict makes me hungry again. The rooms are all recently redone and have all the amenities you need. The house has been a bed and breakfast since the early 1900s so it's a treat to stay somewhere with so much history. The street it's one is full of cute little cottages, so your morning walks are just lovely, and there's a pool that you can use as a guest. I've been twice now, and I'm excited to come back again!

Thanks Rebecca. We are coming to NS on the cat & will be traveling around quite a bit so there won't be any room for a bike. But a playground sounds nice thanks.
