It goes without saying that the facilities, food, and safaris were amazing. It is one of the top camps in Botswana for a reason. What isn't shown on the website or elsewhere is how amazingly attentive the staff are. You might think you are having a casual conversation with Kate (camp manager) or Sam (my favourite bartender) about something you...

There are no words to describe! King's Pool is unlike anything we have ever experienced before. Awesome, luxurious camp, spacious rooms, wonderful food and warm and attentive hosts. Tents are very spacious (ours was #1) with a porch overlooking a hippo filled lagoon. Sunbathing crocodiles, elephant coming for a quick dip in the afternoon, baboons, Impalas, buffalo.... you don't even...

We didn't feel that the wild life was as good as other camps and our guide was nowhere near as good, but the camp itself was pretty amazing. The accommodations where the best we experienced. The décor, layout, furnishings and location were great, as was the manager.

Wilderness Safari's Kings Pool Camp is luxury in the African/Botswana bush! The camp is beautiful, overlooking a hippo filled river (crocodiles, and a vast array of birds as well) and across to Namibia. And the staff, managers, guides, bartenders, servers, cooks, housekeepers, (hope I didn't fail to mention anyone), is warm, friendly, helpful, and charming. I left three days later...

Thank you MelV52, for your beautiful and kind words. We are delighted to have been able to share our little slice of heaven with you, even though the game were “misbehaving”. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Named for Scandinavian royalty, Kings Pool looks out over a sparkling oxbow-shaped lagoon framed with reeds and punctuated by the occasional elephant moving through the water. Expansive decks in the main area echo the natural spaces, and an open-air 'kgotla' (boma) is the perfect setting for fine dining under the stars. Two hides - one with the water (and wildlife!) literally at eye-level - are perfect places to spend your siesta: elephant feet and trunks are almost within touching distance. End the day with sundowners on the elegant, colonial-style Queen Sylvia barge as she cruises down the Linyanti River. • 9 tents • 100% solar • game drives • guided walks • sunken hide • barge cruises • catch-and-release fishing ... more   less
