I visited The Galley of Lorne for a short break from the city and can't recommend it enough. Travelling on my own for a few days peace I was made to feel very welcome, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. I am lactose intolerant and often find eating out very difficult but the chef and bar staff were fantastic, alternating...

all in all a nice place to stay, staff very friendly, rooms / en suite clean, bed - you could just feel the springs starting to come through (gigha suite). breakfasts were very good. evening meals were better when taken in the residents bar as we ate the first nights meal in the locals bar where three wet dogs were...

Took my partner & 11month old away for the night...on arrival place looked closed. Got into the dull reception area, and no one was there. The place smelt old and damp. Had to wait a few minutes before someone eventually arrived to see to us. Showed to our room 'Gigha Suite' which was tiny and also smelt quite damp. Upon...

We spent a night here last week. The staff were excellent and our room was spotless. My meal was delicious but my partner had a bit of a problem with his. I have to say the waitress was very efficient dealing with this. We came away knowing that everything had been done to make our stay memorable.

We spent an overnight stay here 5 th November. The weather was fantastic which added to the enjoyment of the scenery. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated. The food was very good and plentiful. Best of all was the welcome from the hard working staff especially heather and Rebecca. The bar is cosy and friendly with a...

Stayed here for a couple of nights this week and can't praise the staff highly enough. We arrived a little late to order lunch but Amanda ( I think this is the right name) went out of her way to make us a snack anyway. She was really friendly and welcoming . We checked into our room which was the...

Our room was the Skye suite. Worth the extra money for the extra big bath and the outstanding view of Loch Craignish. The room is pretty decent, but not boutique standard ie. lacking fancy toiletries (my own view is that this sometimes makes a good room feel great particularly when you have a big bath) etc. Perfectly comfortable however. We...

We stayed here after a trip to Oban earlier this year. We found the hotel easily enough, and it was in a beautiful location. The staff were very very friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are lovely, and the hotel itself is really gorgeous. The room we had was very well appointed, comfortable bed, warm and with all the usual...

Sitting out on the decking in the sunshine with a stunning view down the loch, it doesn't get much better. We saw deer and osprey without leaving the decking. Superb location. The rooms were good, food was lovely and the staff were attentive and funny. Always smiling and helpful. Definitely a place that I would recommend if you just want...

We spent a couple of nights at the Galley of Lorne, Ardfern, on the water’s edge of Loch Craignish. We had a reasonable sized double room (Islay). The bed was very firm and by the second night I managed to sleep. The duvet was made for a single bed so did not cover two adults. I used a fine woollen...
