Detailed Reviews
I'm just finishing my stay here at Bora Bora, we initially booked for 4 nights but extended to 10 after being made to feel at home by the staff and finding that the facilities were fantastic. I have a 2 year old with me and he LOVES the pool which is cleaned every single morning and is also maintained during the day. The two guys that man the bar are great and no ask is too much. The hotel is family run and that's part of the charm, as upon arrival we were offered a lift to the main supermarket to stock up, when we mentioned we had to get things in for the baby etc.... The owner and his wife are really friendly and make you feel at home, this also goes for the rest of the staff!!! The beach is a short walk away and the water park is also really close! We are definitely booking again for next year and I would recommend this hotel for families or couples as we also brought the mother in law and nan and everyone was accommodated for

Bora Bora is a nice family hotel in Velipoja. Velipoja is not such a beautiful resort in itself, but you can make nice trips to Shkoder and Montenegro. Velipoja is difficult to describe. It is a place with straight streets and lots of (un)built and semi-finished buildings. The beach is good. Bora Bora is a well-kept hotel with a reasonably large swimming pool. The breakfast is excellent. Everything is really in stock. The rooms are reasonable, somewhat dated, but very convenient with a small kitchen. The laundry service was very good and ready quickly within a day.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights and had a two bedroom apartment. The hotel is beautiful from the outside and has a great swimming pool. The staff in the reception is very friendly and helpful and compared to many other hotels in velipoja I believe this hotel has a good standard. However, for the price (100€/night which is a lot in Albania) I did expect a bit more.
First of all, there is only air conditioning in one of the bedrooms. It is extremely hard to sleep in the room without air conditioning since it gets very hot in the summer. It is also very difficult to use the living room area since it too gets very hot and since the outside is even warmer you cannot open the balcony door and expect it to be better. Since you normally get an apartment with kitchen so you can cook at least some meals this became very inconvenient for us and if we knew about this we would have chosen another hotel.
There were no hooks in any of the rooms and neither the bathroom. The only thing was a wardrobe in the main bedroom where you could hang five dresses. No place to put your clothes after showering e.g.
The breakfast is not very good. Again, probably quite good for Albanian standard but if you are used to breakfast buffets in other countries you will be very disappointed. Several egg dishes which all were very cold, just a small bowl with tomato and cucumbers (Albania have very much nice fruit and vegetables growing so should easily have been possible to offer big plates of it) and a very strange thick ham.
Also the floor by the pool area is extremely slippery when it’s wet (which it is all the time) so If you have children (we had a 2 year old) they will have to have shoes when playing and swimming there.
All I all, if it would have been cheaper I would say it’s okay but as it is now I believe it is quite overpriced and we will not come back next time we go to Velipoja.

Very nice little hotel. We had Suite 1 and were very satisfied. It was lovingly decorated, the service was great and all our wishes were fulfilled. The parking lot is spacious and the location is great! The pool is clean and lovingly designed.

Best hotel in Albania we had by far! Very nice and modern hotel. Clean rooms and neat. Amazing pool, even with jacuzzi inside. Fast and good internet connection. Top breakfast served next to pool area. Helpful owners/staff, very friendly, customer-oriented and professional. Wish we would have stayed longer here! Hotel to recommend for couples and family. Amazing value/cost ratio!

This is definitely the best place to go in Velipoja. The amenities are very good, and the staff is great. The staff tries to make your visit the most pleasurable one. Kudos to the management for their ability to change the mindset and for the service mentality they have installed to their staff compared to most of other places I visited in Albania.
