Somewhere on the Sea
Reviewed 20 July 2016

I had the pleasure of staying at the hotel for about 2-/2 weeks. I can't recall a more relaxing, long stay. For the first few nights, my room was in the main house. The room was clean and quite. The furnishings are a bit spartan; but, certainly comfortable. For the final couple weeks, I had a sea view room. It...

Very bad experience! Never again. Western German prices for Eastern standards (if European standard at all). The location is great but the hotel functioning is apparently based on the assumption that most customers never return. We travelled as a family. When we arrived, we were accommodated not in the Am Ostseegarten hotel but in a hotel “Zum Piraten”. The room...

Right - it is that way exactly. We have been here with reservation of hotel room Am Ostseegarten, so we expect to have room AM Ostseegarten builong, which was on the photos. But reality was different - we have our room 3 buildings upper this house. So the expectation (evening sunsets, view on the see) has gone. Also the wifi...

The small town of Lohme on the north coast of Rügen is a charming place to stop over. And the hotel Am Ostseegarten has a great seaview from the diningroom. However, the breakfast is basic and costs 6 EUR, the room we were moved to in the nearby Hotel Pirat smelled mouldy and the Lady-in-charge in her second floor office/reception...

Well, Lohme is a very nice small village and the view from the hotel is breath-taking. The lady owner is a bit with her head in the clouds, but we found her really kind and willing: even if we had a misunderstanding -we didn't have our duvets and we had book for an hostel room- she sent us to the...

Well, this experience was something that is difficult to explain. We enjoyed our stay on Rugen Island and we are quite pleased with this Bed&breakfast place but still I am confused. This place is not a hotel. Owner is a person whom you either like or not. I liked her but not her way to manage but her childish way...

No Reception here. Arrived to find only guests milling around. Hotel appears to be owned by one lady. There was no other staff evident. A family from Denmark arrived and left immediately. Owner eventually found who showed us to a very dated room. Spoke to a lady from Switzerland who stated she ate breakfast out rather than eat there and...

Trying to find a hotel on Rugen at a reasonable price, I made the booking from at petrol station on Rugen. Led, or misled by the GPS, I finally managed to find the hotel. My husband and our two friends stayed at the hotel on our way to Bornholm. The establishment is well located in the heart of Lohme, friendly and clean enough although a bit run down. Nevertheless, since the rates are very reasonable it is definitely worth recommending. Breakfast was very decent and inexpensive.
