Cocobay Resort boasts a tranquil Caribbean atmosphere with charming cottages and serene views, which guests have called out for creating a laid-back vacation vibe. While the resort earns rave reviews for its cleanliness and the stunning location near picturesque beaches, some travelers feel the value is diminished due to pricey add-ons and meals.
Comfortable rooms with breathtaking views are a plus, though a few reviewers suggest they could use some modern touches. The resort's amenities, including pools and private plunge pools, are popular, but guests warn that improvements could be made in poolside seating and beverage options.

4th trip to Cocobay in the last 5 years. Stayed 10 nights on each stay.
Exceptional in every way. The staff , many of which have been there for many years , were excellent. Especially Janine , Jermaine, Denise and Lisa (AKA Mini)
From the minute you get out of the taxi on arrival until you get in the taxi on departure , the staff are probably the best , friendliest and professional we’ve ever experienced. The food is exceptional. The resort is immaculately presented and maintained and bungalows comfortable and typically Caribbean. Setting is sensational with views to die for.
We will be back next year without a doubt. Love Cocobay .

We had 10 nights here in march, but only just getting to do my review! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We stayed in cottage Nevis 2, which was at top of hill therefore giving excellent views across the bay to church valley beach. The room had a separate seating area as you came in front door. We didn’t really use this though as there was no air con in there and you couldn’t really leave doors open as the little birdies would come in to steal the sugar! You the walked past the plunge pool to get to the bedroom. There are 2 sunloungers on the deck by the pool and it was so relaxing to sit and watch over the bay. Our huge bed was extremely comfortable. The wardrobe was behind the bed, it would have been nice to have some more hanging space and drawers. The bathroom was massive with two sinks, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. There is also a hairdryer which is fine if you have short hair as I do, but if you have long hair you may want to take your own as you could be trying to dry your hair for hours!
All meals, breakfast lunch and dinner are served a la carte, and the menu has 2 or 3 choices per the 3 courses. Everyday the breakfast has a special of the day as well as normal menu. There are cereals and pastries, fruit and yoghurts and cooked eggs & bacon etc. The food is excellent quality and very well presented. The menus were not always to our taste but after a quick conversation with Jermaine we were assured that we could ask for something else, nothing was too much trouble. We mostly enjoyed having toasted sandwiches at lunch instead of 3 courses.
The hotel has 2 pools both have service from the bar. If you want a bed by the main pool you have to be pretty quick in the mornings, but the beach beds are easier to get throughout the day. The beach is lovely and also has bar service which is a bit hit & miss. There are 2 other beaches which you can walk to they are also beautiful.
There is also a great coffee shop which doubles as a souvenir shop. You can get various home baked cakes and cookies here. There is a lovely area out the back where you can sit and drink your coffee whilst looking out over the bay.
To sum up, the staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. I would not class the resort as luxury and it could definitely do with a spruce up in places. However it is comfortable and clean, and situated in well maintained gardens overlooking a beautiful beach.
We would come back.

I relied so heavy on reviews when picking our Antigua destination that I wanted to contribute too:) PROS: All of the staff were friendly and professional. They were constantly asking how our stay was, and if we needed anything. The food was excellent. While the menus were very heavily seafood based (I’m not a fan) I found plenty of options that were meat or pasta based. It’s impossible to go hungry here, in addition to the meals at the restaurant the sunset pool served panini’s everyday, and the upper pool served snacks in the afternoon. We enjoyed the resident cats that visited everyday. They were never a nuisance, and would leave you alone if you didn’t share snacks with them. We loved stopping at the coffee shop every morning to get a speciality coffee and delicious pastry. The service was great, and we never waited an excessive amount of time for anything. The alcohol was generously poured and they were willing to make pretty much any drink you asked for. Tipping was acceptable and much appreciated by all of the staff. Both of the infinity pools had stunning views and were perfect sunset watching spots. We tended to stay near the lower pool because it always had more chair availability. We loved the small bungalow style rooms. They were very basic and rustic, but with all the island charm. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner kept the room the perfect temperature any time we adjusted it. We did have a room with a plunge pool but never used it. We did find the water to be pretty chilly because it was shaded most of the day. The porch was the best though and we sat out there often, even using the hammock which was a wonderful napping spot. CONS: I struggle to list this as a con, but we were a little disappointed by the beach. We have traveled to other locations in the Caribbean that had soft white sand, and clear water. The beach was public so there was trash left there often, even glass bottles and broken pieces of glass. There were a lot of small shells so the sand was not very soft, and difficult to walk on in spots. The water had more seaweed than we expected so there were fewer clear spots to swim. We did find that if you walked a little further down you could go the bigger beach which had clearer water without the seaweed. However if you go there you have to rent beach chairs and purchase food/drink because it wasn’t part of the resort beach. We would definitely stay here again. It was a very relaxing vacation!

A beautiful resort with a true Caribbean style and atmosphere, breathtaking views in every direction.
What really impressed me was the hospitality of all the staff and their willingness to offer a great service. It's no surprise so many of the guests we spoke to were returning customers.
We loved our Delux View Chalet.
Spotlessly presented in beautifully naturally landscaped surroundings.
The main restaurant, with its panoramic views, served 3 meals a day; Breakfasts plated hot or continental are served at the table and daily specials like Pancakes or Saltfish with Chop up on Sunday. 3 course Lunches and 4 course dinners were fresh, imaginative, accurately cooked, and tasty.
Reception and Concierge, couldn’t be more helpful or accommodating. Complimentary beach towels on offer daily and iced water flasks.
Beaches; sandy Little Fryes beach is accessed from the resort. Loungers and shades are available. Rum Punch etc is on offer from the resort beach bar along with Panini cooked to order throughout the day. Or just chose to lounge at a choice of pools around the resort, maybe snacking on freshly cooked bar snacks in the late afternoon.
Bars were fantastic, great choice of premium drinks and cocktails, friendly, fun service and also a wonderful Coffee Shop throughout the day, with freshly baked pastries etc to nibble on the veranda.
So an amazing stay in a top resort, that was made even better by truly attentive, caring, friendly, natural staff who have a genuine pride in their work. I’m looking forward to a return visit.

Beautiful resort, very clean, outstanding staff on a stunning beach. If you are looking for a small luxury, quiet resort with great pools, beautiful (small) beach and the most stunning views, I highly recommend this resort and suggest booking a room with a view (best I have ever seen in the Caribbean). All staff were very friendly- great service too- and quality of drinks and food were very good.
The only downside- not enough food options/variety and availability. Breakfast ends at 930am( no takeout boxes or room service and the pasteries at the coffee shop were not much/good), then Paninis is pretty much the only thing you can get until 3pm hoping you can eat one of the two “bites” options (note to resort: some people can’t eat cheese or white bread so not clear why the resort thinks Paninis is the one thing offered through the day- a bit of chips and dip and veggies or salad as an added option seems simple to add). The lunch restaurant is open only for 1.5 hours (limited menu again with no take out service). The items on the lunch and dinner menu for an extra fee are not worth it and they should be included given that the choices are so limited to begin with. That is my one suggestion for the resort- never seen such limited options at an all inclusive.
Having said that, I still think the resort is amazing and would highly recommend it just be aware of their approach with food.

We stayed in this resort for 6 days with my wife at the end of a tour of various places in America, so we asked for nothing more than relaxation and lots of sea but that wasn't the case. Let's start from the first day: we arrived in a full rain storm in the reception it was raining....arrived in our deluxe room with swimming pool it was completely flooded. We called the management to ask them to come and clean and they told us that at that time they don't have the service . Let's go to dinner and here begins the fun between cats that move freely between the tables and mongooses (small animals that resemble hamsters or mice I didn't understand) let's point out that my wife is allergic to cat fur, no one is trying to solve the problem therefore dinner ruined. The next day we point out this problem and their solution is to sit outside at the restaurant or room service, I find it absurd after the money spent that I have to eat in the room. The only general manager who spoke a little Italian told us that he he couldn't do anything about it because the other guests didn't mind having dinner or lunch with cats and he couldn't do anything but make us eat outside the restaurant, so 6 dinners, 6 breakfasts and 6 lunches always with the anxiety of finding cats under the table. Another negative note: lighting equal to 0 to go from the common areas to the rooms we had to make ourselves light with the telephones always with the fear that some mongoose would pass under your feet. Very little entertainment but it is a general problem of all the resorts. It's really a shame because the potential is there but they don't know how to exploit it, the people who work there are always kind and friendly, they help you with everything but I think the problem is at the top. The only positive notes are the truly beautiful sea and the food, always good, fresh and with lots of choice. The advice I can give you is not for ITALIANS.

My wife and I enjoyed an amazing seven day relaxing Spring break at the wonderful and unique Cocobay. This all-inclusive adults only 'executive' resort located within its manicured grounds is located on the west side of the island looking out to the Caribbean Sea. The resort accommodation consists of individual pastel coloured chalets, available on different cost levels, each located a low hillside overlooking the beautiful Caribbean from their own private balcony terraces with two comfortable chairs and even a hammock! The premium rooms include a large shower area opening out onto the terrace to allow access from their own plunge pool. The chalets have everything you would expect from air con, ceiling fan, fridge, coffee maker, iron and board, hair dryer and an in-room safe. The comfortable double bed and soft pillows has night time bug netting coverage. The excellent multi levelled restaurant, relaxing large lounge bar and a coffee cafe are situated close together for easy access and there are two infinity swimming pools with plenty of sun seating and beds. The lower infinity pool nearest the beach has it's own 'tiki' bar with pool servers. It is great to see around the island sites and bespoke executive tours by car may be arranged via the holiday reps. Taxis are readily available via reception booking. In the restaurant the table service fine cuisine from a daily menu is truly excellent for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Something for the future would be the addition of an onsite shop for a range of Cocobay branded gifts. This is an outstanding resort and deserves its 'excellent' rating. I have been to many resorts around the world and this is probably the best resort type I have ever stayed. It is absolutely fabulous!

Where to start! Cocobay exceeded our honeymoon expectations and we had the most amazing 10 day trip. We didn’t book a room with a plunge pool but opted for a sea view instead and the view certainly didn’t disappoint. We had a clear view over the ocean and could watch the sunset from our balcony hammock. The room has a mini fridge stocked with cans of branded soft drinks, coffee machine, and large bottles of shampoo, conditioner etc.
The staff at the hotel helped to make the trip amazing. They are all so friendly and go above and beyond to help. The staff learn your names and make everyone feel special. The front desk helped us rent a car one day informing us it would be cheaper than a taxi for what we wanted to do. They then gave us maps and tips on exploring the island. Restaurant and bar staff are wonderful. They can accommodate food and drinks that aren’t on the menu and are very attentive. The grounds of the resort are beautiful and well kept, always clean and gardens maintained.
The food at the resort - wow! We dine out a lot at home and love to explore new restaurants so we’re worried we might get bored of an all inclusive but we didn’t at all. The food is all gourmet and there is such a variety. I saw a couple of reviews saying that the portions are small… on first look I can see why someone said that however when lunch is 3 courses and dinner 4 you certainly wouldn’t want the portions any larger. We were stuffed every meal. They also serve paninis and snacks at the two bars in the day plus there is a coffee shop where you can get hot/cold coffees and a range of sandwiches and pastries throughout the day. We were never hungry! A favourite of ours was Melinda’s cocktails, they were soooo good!! If you told her what you like she would always make something amazing.
We booked a few excursions via the hotel. Creole lobster tour, hobby cat sunset cruise and a day at sheer rocks. These were all fantastic and would highly recommend. The hotel also has two medium sized pools, two plunge pools and is between two beautiful beaches. You really do not need to go anywhere else. We absolutely loved cocobay!
Thank you to Mr G, Melinda, Denise, Kemlin, Kemet, Davern, Vincia, Marlon and all of the other wonderful staff members at Cocobay ❤️

Stunning stay. Rooms are nice and comfortable, situated in individual Caribbean-style cottages; we had a private balcony with partial sea view complete with its own hammock. Pack earplugs if you're a light-sleeper though; due to the beautiful gardens that surround the cottages, you can very much hear the birds early in the morning.
Bar and restaurant were spacious, with a wide variety of available drinks. A la carte menu changed daily, including special breakfast items everyday. The number of options was fairly limited each day but we always found something that we wanted, with a nice burger available as a "fall-back" option (although we didn't really go for this). All the hosts at the restaurant were particularly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home.
Gorgeous beach with sunloungers and attendant who takes regular drinks orders (Ffryes beach just around the corner is even better but not part of the resort's beach offerings).
Several nice pools, and even though the resort was fully booked, we did not struggle for lounger space.

Lovely, tranquil typical Caribbean hotel. Staff fantastic and so attentive. Rooms “rustic” so don’t expect Dubai levels of amenities and when it rains (which it does) power will sometimes go off… Pool areas good and top pool quieter than lower pool where most of organised house events go on. But to get a sunbed on top pool we found you had to get up at crack of dawn unfortunately. Wish hotel had a better policy as some days beds had towels and a book on them all day and not used! Why not remove them at lunchtime as staff could see they weren’t being used fairly,
Food is a la carte from menu for all meals and no buffet which is good in one way but when you stay for three weeks and menu repeats every week you crave got a bit of variety, we ended up having snacks from lower pool bar several days and skipping dinner.
Drinks varied and good but service as Dinner opening came around understandable slow.
Evening entertainment is ok but overall most couples retreated to rooms after dinner.
We walked to both local beaches during day time but I wouldn’t do it at night as there’s no lighting or real road and it just felt like you should be a little wary.
Been to Antigua four times now and have sampled a variety of accommodation, id probably stay here again but there again….
