We and our 2 dogs were made to feel very welcome from the time we arrived to the time we left. Our room had a beautiful view over the water and a table and chairs right there at the window where we were able to take photos of the water, lighthouse and landscape. A lovely setting to eat at, talk, and watch the sunset and sunrise. Clean and spacious room. We felt like friends being welcomed home after a long time away. Definitely going back and will spend more time there as there are lots of things to explore around the area.

If you're looking for somewhere a little off the beaten track with unmatched scenery (ask for an oceanview room) in a dark sky reserve, real comfort and an adaptable and responsive host in Alan, then look no further. Horizon View sits at the edge of Valentia Island but is only a bridge or a short ferry away from the famous Ring of Kerry, and the less famous, just as scenic Skellig Ring. Also in convenient reach of the Skellig Tours. There is not just a comfortable room, but a common room with lovely balcony over the ocean just for the visitors. Alan is an excellent host, and restaurants easy to reach. I hope to be back.

The views from this guesthouse are unbelievable! We were greeted by Alan who was very friendly and looked after anything we needed giving us good advice on where to go on island. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was really good.
The night sky is amazing from the balcony.
We will definitely stay here again if we go back.

Stayed here for a night over the weekend and must say this is a really nice place to stay. Alan is a really good host very helpful and nothing seems to be a problem. The breakfast is excellent and a the room we stayed in was really clean and the view from here was amazing. Knightstown is only a 10 minute walk. Any time we are staying overnight on the island from now on we will definitely be using here. I would have no hesitation in recommending here to stay. A gem.

Superb location. Very comfortable and a few minutes walk from Knightstown. Views spectacular and a perfect base to discover the area. Magnificent walks and stunning scenery within a few minutes of the B&B. Breakfast is excellent and attention to detail and quality of food is yet another standout feature. Well worth a visit even if the Sun isn’t shining! Good value for money and we will definitely return!

Great spot. Well signposted from the road. Alan very welcoming and helpful. Our room was big with a comfy bed and amazing views. Decent shower with plenty of hot water. Good Irish breakfast. It’s less than a 10 minute walk into Knightstown. Alan managed to get us a reservation at The Watch House (still called The Coffee Dock on TA) Amazing food and was so good we went back the following night. Alan gave us helpful. ideas for walking routes and is a great host. Highly recommend this place.

Very quiet and peaceful, stunning views especially the sunset. Went swimming in the sea nearby. Large room and very comfortable bed. Left our motorbikes at the top of the drive - perfectly safe overnight. Definitely going back next year. Did I mention the superb breakfast ? I have now. Very welcoming - just perfect to get away from noise and bustle.

Such a lovely place to stay in such a stunning location. Thanks to Alan for the warm welcome to his beautiful home. The rooms are a little tired, but large and clean. The lounge is comfortable and has a balcony with views to die for. We had a pleasant walk into Knightstown where there was a lovely vibe. We would love to return. Thanks!

One of the best B & B that we have stayed in. First rate facilities and a friendly host. Magnificent views over the sea to the lighthouse. A large comfortable bedroom with bathroom ensuite. Within walking distance of the village and the beach. All round excellent.
