A little GEM in the harbour ...... Completed our Royal Canal Way walk in the Richmond Inn and what a beautiful place to stay. We received such a warm friendly welcome from Des and his daughter Niamh on our arrival. We arrived after the kitchen closed but Niamh had rung us earlier and called out the menu & let made...

We are regular visitors to Richmond Harbour on the Shannon and we always make sure to stop into the Richmond Inn for food. They do a very good roast dinner and there are plenty of choices on the menu for the kids. They also do half-plates of adult dinners which is a good choice for kids/teenagers. Will definitely visit next...

I stayed in the Richmond Inn as part of a kayaking group for two nights and it has been years since I have experienced such hospitality. This place offers the true Irish welcome which has been lost in many formal establishments in abundance. This is a family run establishment located in a lovely tranquil quiet spot beside the canal. The rooms...

This is a review of the pub & restaurant, as we did not stay in the inn (we were moored in the harbour). We received a very warm welcome at The Richmond Inn. We had boated on the Camlin in years previous (my favourite part of the Shannon experience), but the Richmond Harbour renos weren't finished at the time. When...

This is a very pleasant, cosy, welcoming place to stay. The staff are wonderful, the breakfast hearty and the bedroom was charming. I got great value for my money. It's a beautiful part of the country - a real hidden gem. I felt very welcome here and would have no hesitation recommending it.

I booked in here for two nights when starting a new job. I can honestly say I've never felt as welcome before in any b&b or hotel I've stayed in previously. Everyone is extremely helpful, friendly and very thoughtful. For example, they put an extra heater on in my room before I arrived back on the second night as the...

I have been a guest in The Richmond Inn on two occasions and I feel the two negative reviews are very harsh and undeserved. True, the decor is dated, like many an Irish home. My room, en suite, was clean, comfortable and reasonable. The hosts are very welcoming and they serve a tasty breakfast. I can't vouch for the Bar...

As we were travelling by boat from Carrick on Shannon up the Royal Canal to Mullingar we visited this pub quite a few times and stayed in the Clondra Harbour on our boat. The food we had at nights was good country food like hearty soup and bread, steak and veges and chips and we enjoyed the other choices on...
