Bere Island is unique. Exquisite walking and huge history but both in danger of being under sold. We have a house in west Cork and only discovered it by accident. The Bere Lodge is a perfect base as it provides comfortable bed and breakfast or self catering with a big helpful smile. We would not have got so much out...

Our family of two adults and three teenagers planned on visiting Bere Island for the mid summer festival. We took the ferry on Friday from The Pontoon for the 30 minutes crossing, great value at 25 euro return including our car. The weather was lovely but as we arrived on the Island a fog started to descend. We planned on...

Arrived off the ferry in beautiful sunshine and walked the very short distance to the lodge. We met Brendan who showed us the room which was very clean and roomy. We were made to feel at home from start to finish and basically the house was ours. The island is so laid back, didn't need to lock doors and everyone...

Stayed here back in August 2014, can't believe it's been so long. We had the warmest welcome from Edel. Very helpful with information on walks and exploring the island. We stayed in a double room perfect size clean bathroom what more can you ask for. Stayed for two nights wished it was a week. We recommend visiting the Martello tower...

I visited Bere Island for two nights with three friends. We were made extremely welcome by Edel the owner of the Lodge. The accommodation was clean & comfortable & the breakfasts cooked to order were excellent. One of our party had a birthday & as a surprise in Murphy's cafe at the back of the shop Edel produced a delicious...

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this lodge to anyone. Edel, our host was fantastic during our visit - accommodating a large group of us. She was so warm, welcoming and helpful. Great value for money, and great location just off the ferry. Ticks all the boxes :-)

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting the island. Edel was very welcoming, the room was clean and quiet, and there was a super cooked breakfast the next morning. There are two ferries serving the island; one serves Lawrence Cove whilst the other one lands at the other end of the island so you have an 8km drive to...

I went to adele's hostel in Bere Island with my family. The past times that I visited bere island we've stayed with my cousin who lives there. The rooms were very clean, and always tidy. The room had plenty of beds and a bathroom. There was a communal kitchen, which was nicely set out, though it would be unfair for...

Lovely little lodge set in the most breathtaking location imaginable. A great place to stay when visiting the Beara Peninsula. Edel will give you the warmest welcome and she even baked fresh scones for us! The breakfast was great as well. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. A wonderful place to stay, great value for money.

Went to Bere Island with a large group of people and booked the Lodge. Edel put on an excellent welcome with mulled wine, scones and an open fire waiting for the guests. Great location, right next to the ferry, shop and pub. Rooms and showers are quite modern and very clean which was good. Everyone in the group had a...
