If you plan to spend your day in the room watching HBO this is not the place for you. There is no TV and no internet. Having said that, it did not hurt our stay at all. We listened to the radio, played board gamess (provided) and spent most of our time sight seeing. There is plenty to do in the area. Talk to Harold, he knows them all and provides his personal take on each one. I highly recommend the restaurant at the end of 10 Mile Road. Harold told us about it. You get a basic clean room with towels, a fridge, bed and shower. You are on your own for house keeping. We spent 3 nights of a 10 night/3 location trip here. It was the most affordable and suited our needs just as well as the other places.

5 room motel and very clean and quiet. No road noise and we spent 5 nights here as our base for visiting Carcross, Skagway, Atlin and Whitehorse. Harold (the owner) very congenial and loves company. Locals gather here every afternoon for a Tagish Happy hour or two....very nice to join in. Although no t.v.or internet...that's OK with me. Small fridge and coffemaker in room.

Dear Bill, thanks so much for the positive review. I really appreciate when guests take the time to write something about the premises, service quality or even things to improve. The TV and internet services are quite expensive here, and since last year I've been trying to figure out how to expand the services without affecting current prices, and I'm still working on that ;) Since most guests are here to base their southern lakes drive-around, I thought they would take a fair price, great bed quality and warm room before internet and TV, cause after long hiking or travelling days they would just come here to sleep. But again, I'm still trying to figure it out, its a permanent learning process and change management. I'm really happy to know that you liked the place, and got to experience some of the local warmth by spending time with local people, they sure enjoyed it too! Hope you have a safe drive home and see you around maybe next year. Cheers Harold

My wife and I decided to take the loop from Skagway on our way to Whitehorse. Definetely the best value in our whole northern trip. Our host was awesome and so was the food. Remember to ask for breakfast, its not included in the price but its worth paying for. The lack of internet seemed to us like an issue before making our reservaton, but the place don't reallh need it. Its a resting stop, and OMG the beds are good. We got a double room with the king size, which felt even better than my home bed! The host, besides being a terrific young guy, had lots of knowledge of the area, so don't mind asking him directions! I would definetely stay again. Warm, peaceful, clean, equipped and just minutes away from Carcross. And the best price by far! PS: The pic is a pyke I got fishing from the bridge (walking distance). Our host let us use his rod as well as some utensils. Cheers Dom

Dear Dom, Thanks so much for taking the time to write this great review. I'm glad you felt the comfort you were looking for at the Tagish Holiday Park, and that you value our service and premises. About the lack of internet, it is quite expensive up here, so the only way to keep prices affordable, at least by Yukon standards, is to stay away from fixed -huge- costs like internet or satellite TV. We do believe that the main reason people stop here is because they want to disconnect themselves from the rest of the world, have a couple drinks in the bar, go fishing or hiking, enjoy the local wildlife and get some quality long sleep. So our services aim to excell on these features, offering a good value for your hard earned money, affordable and fresh food, warm and personalized service and a cozy and comfortable room for your stay. Again, thanks so much for your review; as a small and locally operated business its very important for us to know that we're doing a good job, and it also helps promoting our establishment. I hope you had a safe trip home, and would love to have you here again in the future. Best regards, The Tagish Holiday Park Team

This simple motel is clean, freshly painted, comfortable, and quiet...a very nice place to relax and get away from it all (no tv, no wifi). The bed was certainly large enough, the room has a nice table and chairs as well as fridge and hair dryer. The owner is knowledgeable about the area, friendly and accommodating. We needed extra pillows, and they were delivered with complimentary chocolate bars! There is a small shop with essentials, if you should need them. We ordered the full breakfast the day we left, and were pleased with the quality and quantity - although, of course, one has to remember Yukon prices... Overall, I would recommend this motel to anyone who wants a comfortable, quiet, clean place to stay for a night or two, while exploring the Tagish/Carcross area.
