We stayed here for a week for our honeymoon. When booking, we were asked if we were celebrating anything special and we mentioned this. We received nothing special/additional. The staff are extremely helpful. They truly shine and are the best thing about this resort. They really go the extra mile for you here. We were told that housekeeping would be every other day but they cleaned our rooms everyday The breakfast was really good (the chef comes out from time to time for feedback). During the week, you order the meals and they're prepared for you so you have to wait around 10 mins. They might not have some items on the menu. During the weekend, breakfast was buffet style (since there were more guests). Bars are closed because of covid 19. I only saw the bar by the pool open once on a Saturday evening and the other bar only opened on weekends as well. The WiFi reception is very weak in the rooms. Lovely pool and they offer tennis rackets at the front desk. Our room had a lovely ocean view but the bathroom fan didn't work, the only thing that i didn't like (other than the poor WiFi). There's a safe, an iron (no ironing board), a mini fridge, desk, porch set. Also to note, the walls are thin.

Well.. where do I start, brace yourselves because this is going to be a long one. My husband and I booked Le Grand (Deluxe Ocean View) with high expectations, as all the pictures looked lovely and amenities were good. We arrived on the 19th, checked in, got a print out of all the information, restaurant times, gym times, our wifi password etc. walked in the room, everything was clean and well put away, bathroom.. shower was nice and modern, but the face sink was very outdated and extractor fan wasn’t working. On the 20th, my husband and I unintentionally woke up very early, so we decided to hit the gym at 5am (as that’s the opening time stated on the print out) tried our key card to get access.. no luck. Went to the reception to then realize no one was there. After trying to find someone to talk to, the security tells us, well no one comes before 7am so we have to wait. So, around 8am I went to the front desk to query it, when they said no the gym doesn’t open til 7am (which no one told us even when I specifically queried the gym upon check in) A while after, we decided to just go look around the gym and see what it’s like. We reach to the gym door, key card doesn’t work.. after a few tries we returned to the front desk (mind you, these are not short walks and involve stairs) queried it again.. for them to say you need a separate key card for the gym access😑😑 ok cool.. don’t know why I wasn’t told before when I spoke about it TWICE prior. We get the key card and walk back to the gym and there we were greeted with a musky, dusty odor, (probably coming from the very outdated dusty carpets) and rusty dumbbells. There were quite a variety of equipment which was in decent condition, could get a good workout done. Side note: they also allow people who are not occupants of the hotel, to use the gym once they pay a fee. Breakfast- I’ll compile this review in one, nothing was good besides the eggs, salt fish, tomato choka and eggplant choka. Don’t order waffles/pancakes/French toast.. it was trash. Don’t order the bread basket, muffing was dense, banana bread was flavorless, croissants were like crackers. I ordered coconut bake, it seemed as though they reheated OLD bake, because everything was just crumbling. Also, if you are a coffee nut like we are... the coffee is trash too. We left for the day, came back to a clean room, bed was made, towels were changed, toiletries were replenished 👍 21st- went to the gym, which my hands were disgusting after from the dirty rust equipment. they brought breakfast to the room this time because of the low occupancy it didn’t make sense to open the restaurant. Staff who brought it was nice and friendly. We left for the day, came back around 8pm to see NOTHING was done in the room. They picked up the plates from breakfast, but bed wasn’t made, towels weren’t changed, room was cleaned. Called the front desk, she said oh no I’m so sorry, I’m not sure what happened... but the only towels we have available are the pool towels 🥴 cool👍 A hour after that, no access to wifi because the password expired. Called front desk again, she gave me a new one. 22nd- once again no wifi. Also, side note, wifi only really works if your are on the balcony or right next to the glass sliding doors of the room, doesn’t work anywhere else and it’s still VERY slow. My friend had arrived, we went to her room, to check it out as this was the garden view. Bathroom was MUCH more updated.. the view was the same, still had an ocean view, all in all, ocean view room makes no sense. Called the front desk for a new wifi password, she said they didn’t have anymore as she just gave the last one to someone who just checked in and would have to wait for her manager to generate a new set of passwords tomorrow. 23rd-my friend went to the front desk to request a kettle as every room is supposed to be fitted with a coffee station, which neither of us got. I accompanied her, got a kettle for my room as well, but only had 1 mug available, and if I wanted another one I’ll have to go to the restaurant to get it. Left for the day, returned just after midnight very tired. To walk in the room... unmade bed.. no clean towels... room wasn’t cleaned. 24th- my friend and I went for breakfast and i requested breakfast to the room for my husband as he had injured his ankle. So I took that to the room for him. Left for the day, came back around 3... room not cleaned, no clean towels, wares from breakfast was still there. I went to the front desk and told her was was going on and it has now been TWO days since the room wasn’t cleaned and towels weren’t changed. She seemed confused, and apologized and stated she’ll have it fixed. So we stepped out for a bit and when we returned, there was a bag of towels hanging on the door knob, and the plates were removed. That’s it. 25th- we had to leave the hotel at 4am, which informed the front desk of. They were fine, no issues there.. but the front gates were closed and the security was no where to be found and well staff isn’t around until 7am. Walked around, called out.. nothing. Until eventually I decided to check out exactly how the gate was locked, to realize is wasn’t locked at all. So I opened it and left. Meaning anyone from the outside could have done the same. Long short of it all.. to my knowledge, rooms are cleaned daily. And if your are reducing things to cut costs, cleanliness should not be one of those things to reduce, more so with COVID. Security was lacking, staff while most were friendly, some just couldn’t care less. Food sucked. Oh! And how can I forget. You can’t access the beach from le grand because that gate was always locked. So you had to walk up through grafton hotel and get access from their gate, to then walk back down the road to get access to the beach. All in all.. not worth it and wished I booked somewhere else.

I made a reservation with this hotel and paid for one night as a downpayment, but had to cancel due to covid restrictions. Before I paid, they said cancellations are free and a full refund will be done. Well this was a lie... they took a 5% cancellation fee, and all my calls and emails about the matter were never responded to. Dishonesty and banditry at its finest... I'll never stay at this place

This is a terrible hotel stay here at your own risk. Reception booking was too long and when I finally went to my room the AC weren’t working and was told the only option was to be relocated to a different room/ lesser category than my first one. Which was entirely not appropriate. While they were handling my complaint the customer service was terrible heatedly so!

The worst food I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. One restaurant not open. Poor service. Disinterested staff, had to wait for the barman to finish his game of pool before he served me! Complained to the manager who then offered me the job of Head Chef. When we formally complained to the service provider...no record of our complaint!!! Unfortunately, the memory of the dining experience is the lasting one. Don’t go.
