Vila Galé Atlântico garners praise for its spacious rooms and array of activities, positioned ideally for beach enthusiasts and families. However, guests voice dissatisfaction with the value, noting steep prices for meals and services that don't always live up to expectations. While the hotel's cleanliness and service generally earn commendations for their efficiency and friendly staff, some travelers recount encounters with disorganization and less attentive personnel. Despite its comfortable ambiance, a few reviewers suggest a need for modern updates, and opinions on amenities are split due to breakfast quality concerns and extra facility charges.

Just back from a wonderful holiday at this fantastic hotel. Everything from check in to check out 7 days later has been great. The junior suite we were in on the 4th floor was enormous with a decent sized balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. Rooms were cleaned, beds made and bins emptied every day, and we found all the staff to be so friendly and helpful. The air conditioning worked fantastically! Food-wise, there is a massive selection of food in the breakfast and dinner buffets, including themed nights such as Brazilian night meals or seafood night.

The outside pool was warm with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas (plus a big tree too sit under for those who prefer the shade) and the kids pool was good fun too. Lots of activities every day including basketball competitions, bouncy castle, and painting in the kids club. There’s also a trampoline and some football goals for impromptu games of football.

There is a really well stocked supermarket 3 minutes walk away, which also sells beach toys such as balls, buckets and spades and flip flops. We found that if we turned left at the beach we came across a gorgeous expanse of little caves and rock pools which kept us entertained for hours.

We struck gold with this hotel and will hopefully return in the future!

The facilites are good and everything is kept clean. The rooms and furniture are slightly dated but housekeeping staff do a good job refreshing the rooms daily.

The best thing about the hotel is the service, any issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently, the reception staff are attentive.

Breakfast was varied with pastries, baguettes, juices, fruit, continental breakfast options, cereal, tea and coffee.

Facilities include indoor pool, outdoor pool, outdoor kid's pool, hot tub, a small gym, kid's outdoor and indoor play area, games area.

The Algarve shopping centre is about a 15minute car drive away. Zoomarine is a 15 minute car journey away.

The neighbourhood is very quite and relaxing. Apolonia convenience store is about a 15 minute walk away.

The kitchentte with fridge in the rooms is very useful as is the free parking onsite. A good hotel for a quiet, relaxing break.

A really nice clean hotel with very friendly staff.
If your looking for nightlife and action this is not the hotel for you. However if you are looking for a stress free week away from the hustle and bustle keep reading.
Situated at Vila Gale about 15 mins from Albefeira its a very quiet resort with few restaurant's and bars, the good news is the hotel food is excellent and really competitively priced, the drinks around the pool area are also good value, make sure you check out Gracindas Sangria, at 12.5 euros it has to be the best presented jug I have ever had the pleasure of drinking, she takes great pride in making them visually special. there is also a great kiddies pool area.
You can take your own drinks to the pool providing there is no glass.
just outside the pool gate turn left and walk about 500 yards and there is a fantastic supermarket crammed with everything you need.
Again out of the pool gate walk straight ahead and the beach is a five minute walk down the slope and if you enjoy walking then when you get to the beach turn right and you can walk into Armacao de Pera Nascente, this place is packed with bars and restaurants. about an hours walk along the beach.
Close to the hotel just around the corner from the beach is a pizza restaurant and small café , both have good menus. opposite reception on the main road is planet fusion that also does food and drink at great prices.
Hope you find this helpful

Having already known some hotels in the group we were very disappointed with the one that is the first hotel of this chain.

Despite the good location next to a magnificent beach, good indoor and outdoor swimming pool including with water slides for children and very good overall exterior appearance, the degraded state of the room that was assigned to us is not in accordance with the Vila Galé group. We still tried to get another room but the alternative was not ready for entry.

The room has sharp signs of wear at the level of the bathroom door, clogged shower base and toilet, kitchenette cabinet doors falling with broken hips and cabinets already with rotten wood, household appliances such as a toaster and coffee machine are very damaged and dirty and stained rugs. It should be noted that we were assigned a room with views to the reception something that we did not even know exist in this or another hotel which completely took away the privacy, being only possible to be in the room with the curtains closed. A note that this room should not be assigned to any host without the same being aware of the state of the same. The cleaning is weak, there is hair in the bathroom upon arrival and one of the days the trash cans were not dumped (with food remains and diapers becomes essential). Also to mention that the safe in the room is only available for payment which is an extra no longer practiced in most hotels including the Vila Galé.

Given the date we stayed (Year Pass) the breakfast and check-out hours remained the same which caused embarrassment with huge queues for breakfast, nor was it possible to make late check-out.

Space Nep kids have no animators and have no clothes for the spa, even with cost.

As a conclusion we do not recommend this hotel since the experience could even be good but the room can spoil the entire stay, and the same is no longer a real 4 stars.

Finally for this and many other hotels, if you do not like to wash the dishes please leave a sponge and a little detergent.

The place where you stay on holiday should enhance the enjoyment of the experience, not diminish it. Sadly, that was not the case for our stay at Vila Gale Atlantico. The only real positive is the great location.

The room we got was sold as 'garden view', but it was on the ground floor, next to a loud road. It only had a French window, that we had to keep open at night to let some fresh air in, so we did not feel safe as it was close to the road. I think the hotel should only sell the rooms facing the front, and possibly upper floors, unless you plan on adding windows to the ones on the ground floor. Mosquito nets are badly needed, too.

The food at breakfast was average (apart from the bread which was good!)
We only tried dinner once, as it's overpriced and very low quality.
Luckily there is a kitchenette in the room!

The so called 'spa' is not a spa at all, just a small pool in the dark basement, no windows, with a minuscule jacuzzi that is half broken.
Needless to say, it gets overcrowded from 5 pm, despite the booking system. It is obviously insufficient for the hotel capacity. They sell caps at 4 euros each! We were chased away from the showers at 7 pm by an unfriendly lady shouting 'it's closed!'.

The wi-fi is unstable.

The brownish carpet is appalling.

Overall, this is not a 4 stars facility, but it is pretentious in how it presents itself online (the 'best hotel in Albufeira'?!!!) and in the prices.

The only good feature is the outside pool, which is lovely, but spoilt by the loud old music of the animation team. People come to Portugal to enjoy the peace and quiet, not to be deafened by amplifiers...

I was at Villa Gale Atlantico with my family in September 2023. We arrived in the middle of the night, having previously booked a room for 3 people. After entering the room, it turned out that instead of 3 made-up beds, we only got 2 beds and a sofa with no pillows or duvets. After noticing the receptionist, a boy came who had no idea how to unfold the sofa for sleeping. Daily cleaning of the rooms was probably a race of maids to finish first, because the rooms were cleaned very poorly, not to mention the incident of maids who entered the rooms despite the "do not disturb" notice. Another problem is that we often encounter cockroaches inside the hotel and in the dining room, in the middle of the sauce!!
As for the food itself, dinner was fine, but not giving even a glass of water with dinner was a misunderstanding for me. All drinks were charged extra. Breakfasts were okay, but too monotonous. If you stay for a longer period of time, you will simply overeat the same breakfast set every day. In general, the villa gale atlantico hotel is not a 4-star hotel, only a maximum of 3!! Generally, I do not recommend the hotel.

All I can say is do not eat here. On the first night the two teenage boys with me, my son and his friend both suffered food poisoning from undercooked beef at the hotel. I informed the Jet2 rep at the time and she advised to speak to the reception staff which I did. Only to be rudely informed by the lady on reception that it couldn't possibly have been from the hotel as no one else was unwell or complained. I informed her that we had not eaten anywhere else and it was also impossible for anyone else to be unwell as they would not have eaten the same piece of beef as it clearly had not reached temperature and was an individual piece cooked infront of us. No apology, no offer of assistance just rudeness and lack of empathy shrugging her shoulders. The morning after at breakfast we stood and waited for a table of 6 to be greated with 'you will have to find your own table, I haven't got time I've got to get the food out'.
We proceeded to sit at a dirty table for 5 as that was all that was available. Had the staff realised that the issue was the length of time the omelette, eggs and pancakes were taking cook as the lady on that station couldn't do more than one thing at once they would have realised that this was holding up the flow making people cue for their food and also tables due to the slow turnaround. If you asked her for anything or in a quick manner as I did when we were in a hurry on our last day to catch the transfer bus she then intentionally goes slower. I don't think I have been to a hotel with such unhelpful staff or disgusting food. Please see attached photos of what was on offer on an evening. This was the only hot food available and we had 4 children. Who lived on rice and chips for the remaining time there due to them being afraid to eat anything else and there being nothing to their liking.
This hotel is rated 4 star. I wouldn't even give it a 3. It cost us over £3000 to take our family away for them to eat rations for the week we were there which is disappointing to say the least. We were not the only people there to complain about the food or service I might add.
I hope something is done and no other family is in the same position.

The location of the hotel is close to a lovely beach. It is on a bus route to take you to old town but the bus drove straight past us so we got an Uber, which is only around €9. I was travelling with my mum for a special birthday and I had asked previously for a room with a nice view but we were put in the basement opposite a noisy games room in a very dated room. They did offer to move us two days later but we had activities booked and didn’t want to repack just for another two nights. They did put wine in our room on her birthday which was a nice gesture but did not make up for the rude treatment when we arrived. We had a horrible transfer which dumped us on the street outside the hotel late at night. The reception is also the party room and there was very loud music when we arrived. We were given no information and couldn’t hear directions to the room (there is confusing numbering, the basement rooms have the prefix 0 which wasn’t made clear at all so I tried to get into a first floor room, the receptionist was very rude to me when I went back).
The breakfast is just ok, the guy making omelettes is not friendly at all but the team who check you in are lovely. I’d like to see more healthy options rather than fruit in syrup.
Pack your own pool towels as there’s never anyone around the spa to hand these out,
It’s definitely not a 4* hotel.

We are currently staying here for a last minute week long break to the sun booked via Jet2 holidays. The weather is glorious! The hotel’s location is exactly what we were looking for. It’s in a beautiful, quiet village, a short walk to a lovely beach as well as a well stocked supermarket a few minutes stroll away too. The transfer was around an hour with 5/6 stops before ours. On arrival a very large group of (rude) French travellers had just arrived ahead of us and were commandeering the whole reception area, literally pushing you and your baggage out the way. The young gentleman who checked us in handled this well and our room was ready on arrival. We are in a junior suite with sea view on a half board basis. The room is a great space for two adults and two children. The kitchenette is handy particularly the full size fridge. The two single sofa beds are a little hard but not a big issue. The breakfast is grand and a typical selection. The evening meal seems to cater for a more European market as does the whole hotel in general. The dining room lacks space and is noisy when busy. Whilst the food is very fresh, items disappear quickly limiting choices at times. This is particularly noticeable on the nights the large tour group are in. Breakfast is served from 07:30 and dinner at 19:00 which is a little late for our wee ones. The general hotel facilities are good and our girls are loving the splash pool and play area. The pool bar staff are very friendly and the snacks and drinks aren’t too expensive. Entertainment is as per the photos this week. I’d certainly return to the hotel but would book bed and breakfast only. If you are looking for a very restful and relaxing break in a quiet wee place this ticks the box.

Very nice hotel located a few minutes walk from the sea and magnificent beaches with restaurant bar deckchair...etc. On our arrival we were well received despite the language barrier and as soon as we entered the hotel we felt good. It's pretty, classy and clean. Our room with sea view is spacious and well equipped with a kitchen which can allow you to eat in your room if you wish. The style for my taste is not very modern but I imagine it is the Portuguese style. Our bathroom is large but minimalist. The terrace is nice with a beautiful view. The restaurant and breakfast room is very good with a good welcome, at breakfast there is everything you need
For the less good side of our stay, my daughter and her companion who had a room on level -1 had their room visited by cockroaches on 5 occasions and we also saw them in the corridor on 4 occasions. Obviously direction reception where we explain the situation. Very good and very fast reaction from the gentleman who will change our room for a room on the 4th floor by upgrading us. Problem solved but for this problem I think hotel should take this really seriously. The second negative point of our stay was the welcome of the lady who at that time took care of access to the spa and the indoor swimming pool, we were very poorly received and as a result we turned around and canceled our reservation, I I tried to explain to reception but the language barrier....To conclude we had a good stay in this hotel and I would come back with pleasure. Despite a few small things, thank you to all the staff for their work.

Best to ask the hotel direct, they don’t seem to answer here. For recommendations outside of hotel, (which will be a lot cheaper), ask on the Tripadvisor travel forum. Galé is a very quiet area in winter, most restaurants are closed for winter, so you’ll probably have to travel into town.

I'd guess around 8 to 10pm. We were there November, '19 and the weather was mild, but only a few hardcore folks using the pool. Saw no one in the hot tub. Enjoy. This is a great place to visit.
