I returned 46 hours ago from Blue Lagoon Resort. It was a fantastic winter holiday even though the first 2 days were wet and windy. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing holiday and love the water. It is possible to...More
Its nearly a 4.5/5hr ferry journey to this resort. The ferry can be uncomfortable if weather rough so prepare in advance! I stayed in a lodge which was very small but adequate. Communal showers and toilets just next door and they are shared with all...More
We stayed between the 19th-23rd of July 2015 travelling as a young couple. The weather at this time of year was beautiful, however it could get quite windy, especially overnight and early in the morning. This can prevent you from partaking in outdoor activities quite...More
Great little resort where you are served your food (except breakfast) unlike the large unipersonal resorts elsewhere. There were some nice and fun local traditions. Crab race and party night was great for kids.
Beautiful snorkeling right at the beach. Also great dives possible.

I think, N1 is the closest to dive centre (quietest?), N5 is the closest to restaurant. The best to stay in Palm villa 2. Palm villas are perfect in any way. We stayed in Palm villa 1 - could hear swimming pool and bar music... More
I think, N1 is the closest to dive centre (quietest?), N5 is the closest to restaurant. The best to stay in Palm villa 2. Palm villas are perfect in any way. We stayed in Palm villa 1 - could hear swimming pool and bar music at night ( but I am crazy about noise). Usually it finishes after 9pm. Some idiotic young couple brought music at night to enjoy the swimming pool. I had to tell them to shut up. All other nights were o.k.

hI Susan, there are a few options to connect through to the island. there is a ferry that seats approx. 200 people and departs like clockwork at 8.30am once daily - reaching the island at approx. 12.45pm. Cost is NZ$134 pp one way for adults. Alternatively - you can connect via seaplane which is only 30 mins journey and is currently NZ$320 pp one way - then there is helicopter at NZ$425 pp on way. Air transfers are between 9am and 4pm only though. (*prices are indiative). Hope this helps.
