We were greeted with excellent customer service both by the staff and the security/ maintenance. The overall appearance of the resort is great...The food is tasty and the bar is average. My only concern were the room we stayed in, the maintenance gentleman had to come in our room that night to change the bulb, we had to share a verandah with another apartment which for couples isn't what we're looking for. We didn't have any cable and even the local channels were poorly visible, so we got movies from the lounge area. The pools, jacuzzis and beach were all inviting. The resort itself is open for great picture taking!!!

Went for the Carnival weekend 2012, arrived early.
The good - staff are very friendly, accommodating and courteous; meals are tasty and usually ample portions; rooms and dining areas are clean and grounds are well maintained; beautiful views and the estate is a joy to wander and discover. Overall the beach outside the resort is clean and beautiful, and bathing is great near the lifeguard's tower.
The bad:
1) Paid for a ocean view deluxe room, was given a small room with a full sized bed and a closet bathroom. Went to reception and requested a room with a queen sized bed. To our surprise, most rooms have full-sized beds. They gave us a slightly bigger room with a queen bed.
2) The advertised pools were tiny and dirty more like kiddie pools, we were appalled.
3) There were two Jacuzzi's advertised, one wasn't working and the other one was dirty.
4) Meal times fluctuate - be warned to always reach 1/2 hour before any meal, or risk getting scraps, despite paying for all meals.

Stayed here with my boyfriend because we wanted a little relaxing getaway. The first night was interested to say the least. Something flew into the power line and caused half the compound to not have electricity. So as we made our way for dinner we had ti use the phone flashlight since there was no one there to escort us to the restaurant which was also in complete darkness. There we met the staff serving food using her phone light. Now I'm all for ambiance but I think they should have had candles out as soon as this happened. They eventually found some and lit them but it was too dim so we had dinner by phone light lol. We're good sports though so we didn't complain since we saw them struggling to get the generator up and running. It eventually got started and it went well from there. The place is really nice and located in a fantastic spot however while we understand some renovations are being done there are things that should be upkept and look better. The grounds are fairly maintained and the plants are beautiful but some of the seating areas could do with some cleaning and be a bit more presentable. Originally booked for 2 nights on the morning of our last day while having breakfast, the general manager came up and offered her sincerest apologies for the power outage and gave us a complementary night stay! This was absolutely great! We needed that extra night to soak up some more of that ambiance so we stayed one time. Overall, the place is really nice, the room we stayed in was roomy and clean, the staff is pleasant and courteous which as we all know is a make or break factor of any establishment, the food is really good and if you are just looking for a place to kick back and relax then this will do just fine. I will be visiting again in the near future and I wish them all the best with their renovations and hope that they continue to be successful.

We attended a wedding there. In these Covid times at least they should have had the basic amenities! Little or no instructions on what the hotel protocols were in the room or about the hotel until the next day when were told we could not eat in the dining the room because we had no proof of having been vaccinated. No decent running water to get a shower in the room. Plus sketchy wifi at best . No instructions on how to run the TV. Good thing it was ONLY an overnighter.

Do not visit this terrible "resort". I have nothing good or even acceptable to report about this hotel and genuinely don't believe the good reviews. (for example the hammocks being a good idea...there are around 20 rammed in next to each other and you can't see the sea because of the horrible plastic cover over the area).

We arrived around 8pm and were shown to a room which wouldn't lock. So we were shown to the fly-infested area for dinner. I ate a very small amount but my girlfriend wouldn't touch it and couldn't even drink a tea as the milk was off. The food was poor quality and cold with flies crawling all over it.

We found out the first room was the wrong room so were shown to our room after dinner, where we stayed as there is nothing to do at the hotel and the poor light management means you're covered in flies anyway.

The next morning we investigated the hotel. There were around 30 construction workers making a lot of noise, and we couldn't find any part of the hotel that was, or appeared to be, open. The pools were dirty, much of the resort was either taped off or should have been for safety. The breakfast was even worse than dinner and had me almost in tears not knowing what to do.

We decided to leave and were offered no apology. Almost 3 weeks later I finally received a refund for the second night as we didn't stay, but was refused a refund for the first night (probably 12 hrs total stay). This hotel very nearly ruined our 2 week Caribbean trip, but the hotel that we moved to redeemed it fortunately.

The staff at Playa Del Este have no interest in you whatsoever and the place is horrible. Please look at my photos - remember that we were not warned about the works and condition of the place and were not refunded.

Needed to get away for Canival for relaxation and rejuvenation .. so I booked a 4 nights stay for my husband and I to enjoy this secret getaway.

Just as I was toId by relatives and friends of the great service and delicious foods, I wish to attest that their words aew true. I did not regret a moment of this vacation. The ambience very breathtaking and the staff was very friendly, polite and properly mannered. The service extended was excellent!!

The rooms were very clean, properly sanitized and the linens were lily white. The grounds were carefully manicured and clean. The pools were lovely .. the hammocks were enjoyable and the estate had alot to discover.

We were very impressed of the facilities provided with these affordable rates and we will consider Playa our vacation destination. Can't wait for you to open up "Lopinot" to enjoy that fascinating waterfall pool.

To the Management and staff of this fine Resort, keep up the good work!!

My husband and I went there with no expectations, we just wanted a place for quiet and relaxation. However, Playa del Este Resort truly surpassed any expectations that we could have had. The customer service, both reception and dining room staff, was excellent, food was tasty and trini style, the views and grounds were spectacular, the hammocks! were a godsend idea. We would strongly advise on an ocean view room, as the sound of the waves are very calming at night. The river pool with the waterfall was amazing and very relaxing. Mention should be made however that the next door "resort" has no consideration to neighbours when playing their music, but it is not heard in the ocean view rooms. There is no cable and Wi-Fi signal does not extend to the ocean view rooms, but this was of no consequence to us. Even though the Resort has some cosmetic work to be done, we would recommend staying here to anyone and we will surely visit again.

The staff was extremely pleasant, (from the security to the Gardner, the front desk and Management) "They understand service"

The food was great, and the rooms were very comfortable

large conference room, lovely Hammock and massage area
