The location is nice and the staff are very friendly, but it could use a little updating for the price we paid (We stayed just after New Year's so I'm not sure if that's an expensive part of the season). The rooms are fine, the bed is comfy and the wifi is acceptable. I personally like the unpolished look as...

Okay, this will be a pretty lengthy review, but it will behoove you to read this before you stay here. As I was staying here, I was taking notes, and here they are. 1. THE HOTEL IS NOT ON THE BEACH! They have a sister property across the street, which has beach access, but this hotel is not on the...

We stayed here for two weeks in a junior penthouse suite. From the outside, the hotel is appealing, and something different from the usual bland hotel complex. Our room was spacious, with a good view of the sea, and Scarborough in the distance. The hotel is in easy walking distance of Scarborough along a lit road (although there are no...

My husband and I went to the restaurant , Havana, attached to the hotel -Half Moon Blue Hotel. We wanted a meal in the evening. There was one woman serving who seemed run off her feet. We had to go and as for a menu. Instead of bringing it, she gave it to my husband. There was another sour faced...

Exceptional stay. We were upgraded to Superior penthouse which was double the size of the junior penthouse which we booked. Beautiful landscaped grounds, upper pool was adjacent but not busy since upper area has only 9 rooms. Walked down to ocean, private beach area for Bacolet Beach Club(lower rooms), which is part of Half Moon Blue(upper rooms). Hot breakfast was...

The hotel is brightly decorated and we had great views out to the ocean from the huge terrace leading off our room. It was great to be able to use pool at Bacolet beach club which is nicer - the room and the pool were both a little tired at Half Moon and really needed a bit of maintenance. Breakfast...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Here's a little secret only a few people know about: if you're planning a trip to Tobago, one of the most charming hotels is Half Moon Blue Hotel at the Donkey Cart House. Nestled in gardens of palms, bamboo and bougainvillea, the hotel's suites lay beneath the hill of historical Fort George. Eight extra spacious suites and one spectacular Penthouse loft overlook the horizon, the half moon shaped Bacolet Bay and the overflow swimming pool where midnight swims are a must! The decor sets your mood for serene and lazy days and romantic exotic nights. These colonial styled suites with jalousied windows and doors open onto verandas with rattan chaise-lounges, creating the perfect spot for what ever your heart desires like that best seller you have been dying to read. On a clear day you can see the sister isle of Trinidad. These breathtaking panoramic views with their romantic surf washed coves can be seen from our balconies with the beach only a 2 minute trot away. ... more   less
