I stayed for Valentine's Day 2021 weekend with my husband. Overall the staff including the management are very friendly & service was great. I definitely will go back for another stay. I would also highly recommended. The only thing I would like them to change would be to have a separate pool for people with children & one for adults without children. Everything else is great. I definitely appreciated your fact that my husband's gluten free needs were met.
Pros - Excellent breakfast, good main pool area, prompt response to issues in room Cons - Outdated rooms- tiles need replacement, furniture is old, musty smell in room, sliding porch door needs service, electrical outlets should be checked before guests arrive as one outlet was non functional whilst the Safe had to be checked several times and the mini fridge did not work. Whilst the package with breakfast/dinner was good value for money, attention should be paid to cleanliness of the rooms/bathrooms. Housekeeping staff need to also be prompt with requests for toiletries/towels.
Really enjoyed my stay. The food was divine and the scenic location of the hotel is a must see. Tranquil, joyful and adventurous. One particular thing / person that stood out was a waitress by the name of Pamela. She was ever so kind, attentive and professional. It was clear that she didn't just do it because its her job but rather because she care about people. It's a must visit for me again.
Excellent stay... We did the package with breakfast and dinner, we totally enjoyed every meal... Friday night had the live entertainment during dinner which was totally enjoyable... all the staff was so attentive and friendly... Pamela who was on shift during the day was a gem ... the pools were amazing, and well kept .. nice beach furniture all around to just lounge and relax... the only thing I could say a bit negative is the internet wasn't very reliable... so post our awesome vacation pics 😎
This was my first time staying at Magdalena Grand and without hesitation, I will certainly choose here again. Although the hotel's facilities/infrastructure are being challenged by the elements of nature, the staff makes the stay here really worthwhile. They have a natural willingness to be of service, provide information and ensure your comfort. Some of the staff that are true examples of this are: Valerie, Trey and Tiffano (Front Desk/Guest Relations), Mark (Room Service/Pizzeria), Nyron (Security), Pamela (Dining Room for Breakfast), and Adana at the Pool Bar - she makes a delightful Sangria. Oh, and the lady who ensured pool chairs and umbrellas were anchored down from the strong winds while she danced away, lovely people. There was an error with my room service order, but they quickly made good, which showed they sincerely cared about guest satisfaction. Well done #teammagdalena. Some Tips: - Go walking and jogging around the grounds (great for exercise, especially at sunrise) - Visit the boardwalk in the mangroves - Stay at least 2 nights - lots to enjoy - Be sure to let them know if you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, etc. - COVID-19 Health Protocols are strictly enforced, so be prepared to "stay safe" :) …
