Stayed two nights there and absolutely loved it. Our rooms were in the new part of the hotel, so everything was extreme new and clean, spacious bathrooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast is a typical Icelandic/Scandinavian breakfast .. it might not be for everyone but we loved it ... the pancakes are amazing, the home made peanut butter and the pesto, totally recommend. The evening before we are dinner at the restaurant, we had catch of the day and wow it was not something we had expected from a hotel restaurant, it was superb. Recommend the stay but also to try out their restaurant for dinner.
When we arrived, they told us that they have only fish (they couldn’t even prepare us some pasta with tomato sauce). So, we had to drive 30 minutes to the next restaurant. After a bad night (in the basic rooms you can hear every word your neighbors are saying), breakfast was bad: it was packed, there were not enough tables and when we finally got a table, there were no knives left (so, we had to use spoons to spread the butter on our bread). So, the next morning we went later. There were enough tables, but most were full of used dishes (and during the 30 minutes we had breakfast nobody came to clear and clean them). And when the telephone rang for 3 minutes straight (filling the breakfast room with an annoying noise) and nobody attempted to answer, we decided to end our breakfast. Check-out was unfriendly (no hello/how was your stay/where do you go now). However, the location is amazing (you can see Snæfellsjökull from here) and if you only need a bed, don’t mind sleeping with earplugs and don’t need friendly service and a good, cozy breakfast, you can go there.…
We booked a stay at Langaholt guesthouse, and we were so dissapointed. We Saw the pictures on hotels.com and thought; that looks Nice (but see the our attached pictures of what we Got instead). We Got a VERY smelly, Old room next to the restaurant, so we couldn’t sleep. Way to expensive! We Don’t recomand this.
Centrally located for experiencing the peninsula. But three nights for four people in a quadruple standard room is a bit too small. Also the bathroom was quite small. If you want to eat somewhere else there is a 25 min drive. Breakfast is very good with homemade specialties. Nice seaside but keep away from the arctic terns if they are nesting - they get quite aggressive
This is a quiet guesthouse on a lovely location, for your trip on Snæfellsnes. The rooms are spacious rooms, and we had a wonderful dinner, as well as a great breakfast, with scenic views. Would love to stay here again.
