We caught a train (very reasonably priced and good quality) from the airport into Verona. We spent the afternoon in Verona - lovely place - before getting a taxi to the hotel. Price of taxi was around 18 euro, and it took about 15 minutes. Once at the hotel, they have a mini bus to take you into Verona (and collect later if you request it) which is completely free. You do need to book the mini bus with the very helpful reception staff though, as it only runs if guests request it.
