We spent 3 incredible nights in this gorgeous house managed by a lovely family and enjoyed every minute of it. Linda takes care of each guest like royalty and makes them feel at home almost immediately.

Before jumping in the car to discover all the great neighbouring sites, there was no better way to start the day than by savouring the generous and delicious homemade breakfasts by the pool with a view of the sea and the entire city of Rethymnon.

This was a truly experience to remember and hopefully repeat soon!

The most beautiful hotel in venetian building. Linda, the owner, is very kind and helpful, welcoming. They have decorated the hotel with antique furniture, there are flowers and every little detail has been considered with great taste. The pool is the best, as Casa Dell Aristea is away from the beach, and this gives the hotel feeling of luxury. They clean rooms daily and offer breakfast with local ingredients.
The only minus is the location as there are only fast food restaurants, one cafeteria and two restaurants with standard quality. To stay in this hotel you need a car as the area is nothing special.
But the hotel is amazing, I would like to visit again for the beauty of the place.

Whenever you visit Rethymno in Crete, a pleasant surprise awaits you in the suburb called Atsipopoulos. The guesthouse Casa del Aristea is located in a renovated Venetian house in an atmospheric environment full of antiques. Friendly and warm service from the owner and a handmade breakfast in a beautiful courtyard. Rare holiday spot avoiding the big hotels.

My two friends and I loved our experience at Casa dell'Aristea so much that we extended our stay by three days and made day trips instead of leaving Atsipopolous/Rethymnon. Linda is such a wonderful host and lovely person. Her breakfasts and help with tourist needs helped make our trip even better. The beds were the best I've encountered anywhere before. The inn is a fantastically restored Venetian-influenced home from the 1500s and it was all quite magical.

I was here about 4 months ago but promised to also leave a review here; so here we go (sorry for the delay; I didn't have an account here before).

I fell in love with the place. An old Venetian Villa, beautifully renovated and decorated with antiques. Linda is a great host, explained the history of the villa and showed us around a little. Breakfast was splendid. I can only say good things about this small hotel and would have planned more time in Rethymno during our trip just for the sake of enjoying the flair of the villa a little longer (and maybe the pool in better weather...).

Linda, the half Scottish, half Dutch owner is such a warm welcoming hostess in this beautiful hotel. In a lovingly and beautiful restored venetian palazzo you can get away from it all. Filled with atmospheric antiques from her husband's business Linda works hard to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The tiny taverna up the road where the owner just serves up to you what ever is fresh that day is also a great experience.

Nestled in the village is this beautful bed and breakfast, filled with antiques and traditional Greek furnishings. Linda Papalexakis, the proprietor, could not have been lovelier and more accommodating. We stayed in the gorgeous Venetia suite. Go on their website to see how stunning this large and beautiful room is with a huge terrace and spectacular view of the sea and Rethymno. There is also a beautiful patio with a pool, both with wonderful views. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. My only suggestion would be to switch things up a little as pretty much the same things were served but you could make special requests. You'll love it here!

The reviews don't lie for this guest house!

Linda and during our 9 days, her son Giorgos, were fantastic! Like the renovated Venetian property, her attention to detail was perfect. From the warm welcome we received, grand breakfasts and great Cretan recommendations, we enjoyed every minute!

Our room ("Sophia" - deluxe double) was superb with it's own private roof terrace, not that the main sun/pool terrace ever got busy! Good WiFi throughout the property too.

The village of Atsipopoulo (translates to "fearless people") was very friendly and had good tavernas, along with one at Prines 2km south. The family musical instrument workshop is in the village, which Giorgos kindly showed me around. Very relaxed place.

Also a very good location for driving around the island.

Recommended 100%, we'll be back I'm sure.

We stayed here for 15 nights and can only say what an amazing place that is run by by one of the nicest people i have ever met.The rooms are simply stunning, the bed was the most comfortable i have ever slept in.The rooms are fully kitted out with excellent wifi, the room really feels as though it is yours and you are not staying in a hotel. The pool is amazing too,for the 1st 3 days we stayed at the pool all day and never saw another person, with a brilliant fridge in the room (full sized, not one of those inadequate ones you get in most hotels which are really good at keeping your drinks warm),really cold drinks were on hand all day long.Breakfast is vast and all food is very fresh. The village is around 4km from Rethymnom center and there is a bus that gets you there (1:20 Euro each way) or 8 Euro in a taxi.Every person who we spoke to had hired a car to explore this wonderful island. The hotel is so peaceful too, lying by the pool all you hear is tranquility, the sun loungers and parasols are excellent too.Now about the owner who is called Linda. This lady is one of the most warm hearted people i have ever met,Linda made our stay here, always greeted with a wonderful smile, the lady cannot do enough. Our flight was late and never arrived till 2am,Linda was there to greet us and back early to get breakfast.A truely wonderful host that has a great knowledge of the Crete,we have met a real gem of a person and will be back.Just wish we could have stayed longer.Sorry we cannot give you more than 5 stars.

Just back from a week's holiday to the Casa. It is such a beautiful place and our stay was very relaxing. We stayed in the Deluxe Maisonette which was perfect for us. Linda, the proprietor, gave us a very warm and friendly welcome and continued to do so much for us during the week. To people looking for a chill-out this is definitely the place to visit. The only downside was having to come back home....it would have been nice to stay on for another week. An unforgettable holiday.
