Don't tell too many people, but this is a fantastic place! Peaceful and quiet on a hill, surrounded bij fruit trees and olive trees. With many lovely seats around the place, hammocks, a wonderful pool, a terrace up on the roof with splendid views and a lovely staff. A home away from home, once you've entered, you don't want to...

We have just spent a week in this delightful hotel. It is set in the middle of an olive grove on the side of a hill with views towards the sea. There are only 9 rooms in this converted family farmhouse, and our room was one of the oldest in the house. It was a rather dark room with traditional...

We have just spent a week at Elia for an 80th birthday celebration with extended family aged 10 to 80. The hotel could not have been more welcoming and helpful and felt like a real home from home. We loved: - the view to the sea from the beautiful swimming pool - the wonderful extended breakfast including freshly squeezed orange...

We stayed at the Elia Spa last year for 7 days at the end of October, walking in the local area. The hotel is a lovely old Creatan building, now extremely well renovated and appointed with some lovely rooms, shady courtyard and elevated breakfast balcony above one of the bedrooms. It's mainly commonwealth and Cretan staff are a really nice...

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Elia and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. We arrived at 1 am to find sandwiches and drinks in our room, which was great after a long journey! Breakfast is very relaxed and delicious , as are the dinners! Yes, there are a few cats with their kittens but...

We stayed here for a week in mid-October 2013 as part of an Inntravel Discovery Holiday. Overall we enjoyed the hotel and wonderfully peaceful rural area away from the busy touristy towns and beaches. The staff and manager were excellent, with service and touring advice very much appreciated. Our large west facing bedroom was mostly rather dark and the bed...

We are aware that this year we do have an abundance of cats (well actually kittens as they seem to have been breeding so fast this year). We have tried very hard to find them homes, and even had a few offers but nothing materialized; we usually manage to give them away but they seems to be far too many...

A wonderful week away from a high stress life in the uk. We were made to feel at home instantly. Plenty of comfortable seating areas, either among the trees or with amazing views over the island to the sea in the distance. Jo and her team were great. I loved the options at dinner-you could sit alone or with other...

This is a really charming rural hotel, 15 mins from the coast, in a lovely setting, kept with dedication by the owner and all the staff. Great food and great value: we, like many others already, will return.

Our party of six friends stayed at the Elia in April attracted by its wonderful position as a base for some walking. We a fantastic time escaping the cold English winter into the warm Cretan spring. Everything at the Elai was perfect; the rooms were clean and conformable, the food and wine were excellent and the bonhomie between guests and...

We had 4 perfect days at Elia hotel during our road trip in Crete. The house is fantastic, great rooms, great food and great hosts. And the place is very good to explore the region around, and being quietly in an amazing countryside at night. I strongly recommend it
