Have always enjoyed staying at small Greek hotels. There's something about them being more personal with more of a local flavour than the bigger hotels can offer. It was our first visit to Crete and we like to self cater so looked for a smallish hotel with two bedrooms for ourselves and our 19 year old daughter. Came across Aphea... More

We had a fantastic time in Aphea Village! The staff were very friendly and caring (our little ones are 4 and 1). Although located up a hill side (shops down the road), the walk up is well worth it with a spectacular view and outstanding meals (breakfast and dinner available). The hotel has free wifi however beware that internet in... More

Short: The hotel has very good location, rooms are nice, staff very helpful and friendly. We had ***** view and service. The atmosphere is family-ish, owner and his relatives run whole place and sit among guests during day and in the evening. Food is good, you can try local specialities. Only breakfasts could have bigger variety Long: We arrived after... More

Just returned from 10 wonderful days at this lovely little place. And can't praise it enough. We arrived at 11pm, tired and hungry, Maria , the owner's daughter ordered a take away pizza for us . She helped us out on several occasions during our stay, with info on places to visit, she ordered us a hire car and got... More

The apartment was on a hillside. The only draw back was the walk back to it. You either walk up a steep hill or a longer incline, then there were the steps. We stayed near the top with a lovelly view but it took a minimum of 92 steps. The apartment was very roomy but the A/C was only in... More

Beautiful place apartments are all on different level and terraces. The accommodation very spacious with kitchen/dining and living room, nice size bedroom and bathroom all very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and there was air conditioning which was free but was situated in main room not bedroom. Rubbish and floors cleaned daily and plenty of clean towels and bed... More

Location and general impression: Sits on a hillside above the main village, about 5 mins from the main supermarket and buses and 15 mins from the beach and harbour. Outstanding view of coastline towards Hania from many apartments. Quite a lot of steps from street level to the upper apartments. Lovely terrace and pool with said views. No gardens but... More

A very nice hotel with almost every room facing the sea directly. I loved that the kitchen and living room were separated from the dorm, you don't see that often in a hotel. Every room has AC, decent bathrooms and the rooms are cleaned daily (garbage, floor washed, etc) Loved that there is plenty of vegetation on the alleys to... More

This is a nice place. It has a lot of apartments facing the sea directly. All have A/C included. The upper terrace gives you the perfect sunrise view. Our room was cleaned daily (garbage taken out, etc.), and the towels were changed once in our 7 days stay. The location is good, but you'll need a car to visit the... More

We spent quite a lot of time looking at hotels and apartments online before choosing Aphea Village. We were travelling as a couple, looking for somewhere fairly quiet to use as a base to explore west Crete with some convenient amenities nearby (shops etc) as we were going for the self catering option. Aphea Village is a small complex of... More
