What an amazing location in Standford where you can be yourself n feel at home. Jill, her husband and staff are so friendly it doesn't feel like a guesthouse or lodge at all. It actually feels like home. I'm a morning person and it's truly amazing to wake up here and go walk in the beautiful garden where there are...

Our time here was just perfect. The family that run it take care of every detail to make your stay as memorable as possible. From the delightful gardens which they have spent hours of love in cultivating to the delicious breakfasts beautifully presented. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the cottage which gave us independence and privacy. The breakfasts were memorable and the location was ideal for exploring the town and the surrounding country. The staff particularly Minnie were most attentive and helpful. This is a traditional country lodge, not a modern glitzy hotel, and it suited us perfectly.

I really enjoyed my recent visit. The lodge is set in magnificent and peaceful gardens and is close to the river. The gracious hosts ensured a friendly welcome and comfortable surrounds - perfect!I highly recommend both Stanford and Galashiels Lodge.

This beautiful home has the ambiance of an English country homestead in the early 19th century. Serene, cultured and exquisite. The gardens are magnificent and the decor is truly lovely. Breakfast in the garden under the gazebo was delicious, and service is friendly and gracious. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic spot in Stanford. Garden is beautiful. We stayed in the attached bungalow. The bungalow would sleep a large family with no issues on space . Decor is impeccable and we enjoyed our stay. Plenty of places to visit locally

We were welcomed like old friends when we arrived. Jill was a wonderful host and we both were treated as part of the family. The room was superb leading out onto a beautiful garden. Next morning we had a wonderful breakfast before we left. We will be back sometime soon.

From the lovely large garden, to the scrumptious (and large) breakfast, to the comfortable room Galashiels looked after me as an honoured guest. They made sure I was enjoying my stay in Stanford Village. It felt like I was still at home!

Miny's breakfasts were fantastic. It was peaceful, and very comfortable experience. Miny and Jill made our stay. The room was very nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and the garden was beautiful. A real home from home

We spent one night in the self catering unit, which is not quite up to the standard of the rooms in the main house but we didn't get charged as much as in the main house either. For us it was perfect and I can only recommend the lodge.

“Rooms looking onto the garden are a bit sunnier. The beds were wonderful but for me could have been a bit firmer with firmer pillows as I snore like a trooper!! Will definately take my own pillows next time but this did not detract from our stay all. It was just wonderful and very romantic. Ginge the cat is just gorgeous and made himself home in our room.”
