I was passing through Norway on my way to Sweden. I decided to stay here. a large snow store was on top of us. This hotel is a perfect place to stay. The cozy room at the lobby has a nice fireplace to sit around and enjoy the atmosphere with a good book as I would look out the window...

First the good: Great lobby area for mixing and mingling. Friendly staff Decent spa, large pool with clean dry and steam saunas. A small training room. Spa staff are highly experienced and give great massages in addition to other typical spa services. Fabulous views Comfortable beds assuming you bring your own nice pillows. Spacious clean rooms. Good skiing with easy...

Rauland Hogfjellshotell was our selected overnight stop enroute to Bergen from Telemark. I would expect that it would be extremely popular in the winter months with a small ski field just across the road. We were there in August...after the summer rush and before the ski season, so it was very quiet. I called this review a "Comfortable Country Stopover"...

Stayed at the hotel on a coach tour (Globus) ... surprisingly nice hotel hidden by an unusual exterior and surrounding buildings. Room was large, had all the basics, nicely appointed, nothing fancy ... will meet all of your needs ! Stayed there as a jumping off point for Vemork/Rjukan area. (Watched the "Heroes of Telemark" after dinner) Had two very...

Must admit that L_Ildi33 from Karmøy describes our experience well. Bit let me add to that description. We stayed the first half of Easter 2016, The service was appallingly bad, or maybe – Non existing? We know our way around Rauland, so we did not reflect that there was no guiding information at the hotel – but they sure could...

The hotel is classified as a 3* hotel; however it's an oversized roadside motel at best. Check in: Highly unprofessional staff. Not service minded. Upon arrival 2 keys were handed to us without pointing us to our room. Since we reserved full board - we expected either a welcome package which would inform us about meal times or the receptionist...

This hotel is so much nicer on the inside then what it looks from the outside.Very cosy lobby and relax area. Our room had a nice size and nice wooden floor. The bathroom was nice and clean with a good size. The beds were not comfortable, too simple. Dinner which was included in the room price was ok, breakfast was...

First this place is nicely situated on a peaceful mountain. The cross country skiing is good with the right amount of people to feel social but not crowded. The scenery will take your breath away. My first impression of the hotel is rustic mountain lodge. It is slightly shabby but keeping up with the basics. There is a well equipped...

For a country hotel this place was okay. We just stayed the one night passing through. It was summer and the weather was nice so I had a walk around the area looking at the grass roofed Norwegian homes. Meals were quite nice and service was friendly. No wifi in the rooms was a pain, but it was only the...

The rooms were BAD, tiny shower your rear hit the wall when you bent down. Old creepy furniture. An old worn out ski resort with poor furnishings. Poor guy, there was only one guy working the desk checking everyone, 2 bus loads, in that night and the evening and the next day. He deserves a metal just for not quitting...
