Detailed Reviews
This year my wife and I were searching for something exotic but local....a suitable replacement for our usual winter holiday. We found it at Eagle Nest Lake. We were pampered yet challenged, treated to spectacular fishing and cared for by some of the finest people we have ever met. We are still talking about the wonderful memories we got to keep, and we learned so much about caring for the environment from our guide Tanner. We'll be back!

Trip of a Lifetime: If you have found this place, you have to go. You will not be disappointed. I went up to the Eagles Nest for a Fishing Trip with my dad, brother and father in law. We had an outstanding time. We flew in by water plan. Awesome experience, by itself. I felt like I was in Indiana Jones! We stayed at the laughing moose lodge, which had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and the shower was hot. Our guides Parch and Traven put on fish everyday. The guides provided excellent shore lunches for us with the fish we caught. The food that was served each night at the lodge was delish! We are hoping to make it back next year.

Our 1st guided fishing package. What an awesome experience.
The location is great. The team here was on point and great to deal with.
Jessica made sure we were booked and taken care of.
Our guide was Edwin. His 1st year here, but a great guy and put us in some great fish.
Really clean cabins. Great community room and the restaurant is good food.
Note you should bring cash for the tip to guide and service team. It is appreciated.

My brother and I recently made the trip to Eagle Nest Lodge for the weekend......great time had.
We were welcomed by the staff at the lodge and given a quick tour then off to settle in before dinner. The food was amazing and left you full each meal(save room for cookies)
Be careful of the cedar hot tub and leather recliners while watching NHL playoffs as they may suck you in for the night!!!
After breakfast our guide Justin was waiting in the boat and took us on a day full of fishing.....shortly stopped counting but we caught plenty for our shore lunch and probably another 100 fish caught and released by the two of us.
Fished for years in Manitoba’s waters but it is a great experience to be pampered in the lodge and guided out on the water by top notch guides.
Other than a day of rain and wind it was the best trip we could ask for..... and the rain didn’t slow us down either.
Would recommend this trip to people of all fishing levels. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks.

You will not find a more perfect combination of high quality fishing, natural beauty and five-star hospitality in a fishing lodge anywhere else in Manitoba.
Eagle Nest Lodge is a short float plane ride from Lac du Bonnet or a scenic 45 minute boat ride (our preference) from Eagle Nest Landing at Pointe du Bois. It is on the Winnipeg River hydro reservoir and offers fishing opportunities in river current, many quiet bays, adjacent lakes and even in large creeks with waterfalls.
Eagle Nest has been owned an operated by three generations of the Pedruchny family, who really know how to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. The Lodge and cabins are well maintained site-built log structures. Guest cabins have fully functional bathrooms, plenty of sleeping rooms and outdoor decks with spectacular views. Very comfortable for a group of guys or a family.
We have been to Eagle Nest several times in early June and also mid-September. Fishing is excellent for walleye, pike and smallmouth bass. Don't expect non-stop catching, but it's not hard to find more than enough fish each day. Walleyes are plentiful in the 18" to 25" range, but larger ones are hard to come by. Pike can up go to 40" plus, with a whole range of sizes below that. Smallmouth bass fishing is arguably some of the best in Manitoba. I've already logged five Manitoba Master Angler bass ranging from 18" to 19 1/2". All the fish are very healthy looking.
We recommend that you take advantage of their guide service. The guides are very knowledgeable, personable and more than willing to assist fishermen of any skill level. They also know how to navigate around the numerous submerged rocks.
Last, but certainly not least is the food. Oh my gosh!!! The day starts with a hearty breakfast. Shore lunch is at noon somewhere along the water. The guides clean and prepare freshly caught walleye a couple different ways along with potatoes, beans and some of chef Jimmy's renowned chocolate chip cookies. The evening meal at the Lodge will be a huge surprise for first time visitors. Each night brings a different gourmet style offering that could be prime rib, steak and lobster, game hen or pork chops. Save room for dessert. The cuisine and service rivals many first class city restaurants. No kidding!
If you are looking for a terrific fishing experience while being pampered a bit, I highly recommend Eagle Nest Lodge. The price is very reasonable for what you get.

I have been going to Canada for fishing since 1989, most years twice a year. Shhh - keep this to yourself - This is the best resort/fishing lodge/camp I have ever been to. Lodging, food, fishing. It all adds up to the best place I have ever been

My family and friends have made Eagle's Nest Lodge our primary destination for more than 10 years. World-class fishing (see photo of my son) delivered by knowledgeable, enthusiastic guides might be reason enough to visit. Add in superb staff, unexpectedly good facilities (not luxury, but the best of class for those who care about fishing more than appointments), wonderful staff and a GREAT kitchen keep us coming back year after year. I highly recommend it!

One week ago I came home to South Dakota after one day of beautiful golf at Granite Hills Golf Club and 3 days of great fishing at Eagle Nest Lodge on the Winnipeg River, about half an hour from Lac du Bennet. The walleyes were fat and fighting, the smallmouth bass looked like footballs and the northerns were powerful. The fish in that system are healthy and beautifully colored and, this trip, literally jumping into the net. Now, I've reeled in smaller fish and had a pike grab it as I reeled, and ended up with both in the net. But this trip I caught a nice walleye, the guide got it in the net and as he was lifting it out of the water a nice northern came out of nowhere and jumped right into the net. I've booked my trip for next spring and can hardly wait to get back to Eagle Nest. Maybe I'll see you there enjoying a great fishing experience like all of mine have been.

What a great experience for me to share with my sons in this gorgeous country. The trip started out with a beautiful boat ride up the WinnIpeg River to the Lodge, where we were greeted by some of the staff and offered refreshments. The accommodations were very nice with views of the river. Fred, JoAnne, Jessica and staff all do a great job of making sure your stay is an experience to remember.
Sophie, Masha, and Shelby were very pleasant to have as waitresses, cooks, cleaners, coffee deliverers etc. They worked hard and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs.
Nothing like a good hearty breakfast in the morning, followed by a shore lunch of fresh walleye, and in the evening a gourmet meal of either steak and lobster, cornish hen, prime rib and a thick pork chop the last night. Don't plan on loosing any weight on this trip!
Our guides Dave and Dillion were a lot of fun to be around and know where to go for the kind of fishing you are looking for. I would highly recommend either of them for your trip.
We caught lots of walleye, pike and smallmouth bass. We even have a Master Angler among us now. Make sure you take in the Crowduck Falls. Breathtaking! And if you want to see Bald Eagles, they are everywhere.
In closing, everyone should experience Eagle Nest Lodge and all they offer. Let Jessica plan you trip. You won't be disappointed.
