After seeing this hostel nothing can surprise me any more... It used to be a 4* hotel, which was transformed into a quite poor hostel run by 4 Australians. The general impression wasn't good. As soon as we enter we noticed that the place is a total mess. It actually looks like under construction. The kitchen and common area are...

This hostel is only run by a couple of guys and it is not kept in a great condition. The common areas are generally slightly dirty and messy, but not notably so. The rooms were all very clean, with good beds and clean sheets. The hostel is situated inside an old abandoned hotel so there are a lot of random...

Hostel was a total shack, we were only people staying there, kitchen was disgusting (obviously after a major sesh and no one thought to clean it!) hostel owner spent the whole time downstairs watching DVD, was very unhelpful in advising us on what do to in balaton. Balatonbogar itself isn't great either, would never ever go back. Should have went...

Balaton Beach House is the perfect place to visit if you want to escape from the city for a couple of days to chill by the beach by day and party with the hostel guests at...

I love having the honor of reviewing this place first! The Balaton Beach House is located in a small Hungarian lake town. The town/environment is relaxing but the hostel's workers/guests/vibe is very energetic. From what I understand the hostel is related to a party chain hostel in Budapest that runs Grandio, Carpe Noctem etc. Almost every night the hostel workers...
