Stayed at the b&b and it was a comfortable and clean, basic room. It was lovely and warm and the shower worked a treat. We had a lovely meal in the bar area. All very well cooked and home made from what we tasted. I would definitely recommend this pub, if you want a homely, local, relaxed, chilled out traditional...

Facilities are quite basic but it is ok for one night.Food here is reasonable. If you stay here and have romance in your soul research the story of the old bridge and go and see it.This made our stay here worthwhile.

We stumbled upon this pub midway through a muddy and rainy Sunday walk. Cracking roast with all the trimmings, a decent pint of beer and happy to let us in with dog and muddy boots. Exactly perfect for our needs.

Last night of the C2C. The room was good, the welcome was friendly and the food tasty but we had to work quite hard to actually get served which was a surprise because they really weren't that busy. We didn't have any great complaints but with such a wide choice of great accommodation available, we'd think twice about going back.

Ignorant staff, was not made to feel welcome. Staff criticizing a punters choice of drink *water* in full earshot of other customers. Never got to the food, 3 visits 3 one stars.......Poor, place was almost empty on each visit, not suprised.

We had a two night stop over here, what a surprise. From the outside we were not sure what to expect, however, once inside this pub is just fantastic. From the very friendly staff to the excellent menu. Breakfast too did not disappoint. Would not hesitate to return,

Staying locally we expected to use this pub for our evening meals and nights relaxation. We were soi disappointed when we went. This must be one of the most unwelcoming pubs in Yorkshire. The staff are more interested in holding private conversations than seeing to customers needs, one young man in particular seemed oblivious to the fact that ridiculing a...

Great traditional Sunday roast lunch - with choice of beef, pork or lamb and a good nut roast veggie option. The portions are huge (though you can choose a 'small'), beautifully cooked and a good selection of roast potatoes, mash and veggies (swede mash, cauliflower cheese, cabbage and carrots), with loads of gravy and sauces. None of us had room...
