We recently returned from a trip to French Polynesia. The first night we arrived at 10:30 p.m. and had a room booked at the airport motel. After reading the reviews we were still uncertain if we would be able to make the short walk. Upon stepping out of the terminal and seeing

I stayed here twice when flying in and out of Tahiti. The hotel is a short 5-10 minute walk from the airport however the majority of it is uphill so you will be sweating quite a lot by the top but it is definitely walkable! Check in was quick and easy with friendly staff. The

This is a simple hotel but clean and perfectly meets your needs after a long flight waiting for your Air Tahiti connection the next morning. It’s quiet and airco is excellent and quiet. Breakfast is continental fare. I was informed well in advance to not try to walk up the

We got in about 10.30pm and you can see the motel from the airport but it’s deceiving! We decided to walk with all our bags across the road. Oh my gosh, there’s a lot of stairs and then a very steep driveway. By the time we lugged everything up we were sweating like pigs and

Can't beat the location next to the airport for a inbound late at night flight. Rooms were clean and bed was adequate. The air conditioner worked fine. No 110 outlet in the room. One person at the front desk did not speak English very well.

they don't have a day room system. We tried to check in at noon, and they wanted to charge an additional $50. We were told normal checkin was at 2pm. Thankfully, a room opened up at 1pm, and they let us check in at 1pm. Our flight was leaving at midnight, and at the last minute was cancelled. The hotel staff were very accommodating, and let us have our room back without any additional charge.

I saw the cruise terminal/docks right in the city centre- it is a massive and impressive looking building (totally unexpected location and presentation!). The Tahiti Airport Motel is just a short walk down a slightly rough driveway to the main road that goes into town. I saw a bus stop there and have no doubt that it will have very regular bus service into the city. If I was you, I would stay at the Tahiti Airport Motel (especially if you arrive at night and want to save money- it's cheap for Tahiti and clean) then ask at reception about the bus. If the bus option turns out to be 'too hard' (which I very much doubt), there are taxis that hang around the motel. Good luck!

Yes there is an elevator, but you have to walk up a few steps to get to it, there is no ramp.
