Miro was great. Made us a mushroom
Risotto for dinner and a great omelette the next morning. Room was large and comfortable and location is great. Highly recommend. October is a good time to visit as crowds are smaller.
We chose Villa Sumrak because of the amazing reviews on Trip Adviser and they didn't let us down. The couple who own it were away on vacation leaving their two sons and an uncle holding the fort but the Villa was in safe hands. From...More

Great location within a 15min walk to the lower lakes and falls. It really is a stunning landscape and so close. It's possible to enter the park without using the main gates which sell the national park tickets which is a considerable bonus.

Thanks for posting your review of Villa Sumrak. We are going to be staying there for two nights two weeks from now. Could you clarify for me if you can buy tickets at the nearby entry point (a 15 minute walk from the villa) without going to the main gate? Can you enter the park before 8 AM and/or stay into the evening? I'm interested in seeing wildlife and birds too - did you see much and if so, where might me the best area to look?
I'd appreciate any advice you have about how much cash to take per person to cover expenses that you can't charge or about finding the hotel (with the help of a Garmin GPS).

Hi - agree with all of the above comments. You can easily walk to the entry point at the lake from the Villa & purchase tickets there. Just be aware they are one way on the lake, so you will be coming back a different way. Everyone was extremely helpful & speak very good English, so you won't have any problems with receiving assistance. The guides around the park are also easy to find. The evening meal at the Villa is well worth doing - great food & great opportunity to chat with other guests & the family members. The costs have been covered above also - the other good piece of advice is start early & try & beat the crowds!
