We have just returned after a week of vacation with two grandchildren, 11 and 7 years. A few days before arriving, I read a few negative reviews and was very upset. But, to my great delight, hotel met all my expectations. The hotel located 100 kilometers from the airport and the bus journey takes about two and a half hours....

I am only reviewing the hotel restaurants, bars, pools and beach, excluding rooms, since we stayed in the Sunshine Crete Village (which is a separate hotel) but could use all the amenities of Club Calimera. Overall the hotel was OK, nice greenery, lots of space. However, you can tell that the hotel is pretty old and could use some overhaul....

-Good place with amazing sea and very strong wind sometimes. Be careful with open balcony in your room because wind may crash down a TV. -So many activities for children in this hotel was cool -Food is not unbelievable but ok - It's good hotel for families with small children and teens, old couples

First time visit of my family (me+wife and 2 daughters 10 and 7) in this hotel. We enjoyed the stay and would definitely consider coming back. Pluses: - just on the beach, good place for swimming and snorkeling - nice family room (split bedroom for parents and "living room" with beds for kids) - tasty meals, fresh vegetables - friendly...

Myself and a girlfriend decided to book ourselves into Kalamera for 5 nights and what a mistake it was. The hotel needs a really good re furb - the professional pics on their site are probably from 15 years ago. All amenities are so old fashioned and basic. We couldn't even get an iron sent up to the room -...

In early summer 2014 we have spent one week in this hotel, which we have chosen as being appropriate for family holidays. Unfortunately the first impression was really bad, since we were given accomodation in Crete Village and not Club Calimera, for which we have payed! After argueing for two days with the personnel and requesting our rights, we were...

“The garden view rooms mean a view of the car park. We arrived and had to change room to a sea view. Our family room was ground floor which was excellent, far enough from pool not to worry but having space for our son to run around was a bonus.”
