We do have some mixed feelings about the Pantanal as being a top destination after spending 5 years in mountainous national parks in the US with so many breathtaking views. The part of the Pantanal accessible via the Transpantaneira is one long stretch of marsh land occupied by farms and an enormous variety of animals and birds. If you however... More

We (28f, 24m) stayed here for 3 nights in June. The Pousada is very well being taken care of. Rooms are basic but that's what you would expect from a place like the Pantanal. We loved the food (breakfast plus two warm meals per day, buffet style) which also included some vegetarian choices. Almost all staff speak German which was... More

First of all, we are a family of 4 with two boys, 6 and 8 years old. We are from Belgium but have been living in Rio de Janeiro for 10 months now and have been travelling quite a lot in Brasil since. So may be we are already a bit used to Brasilian pousada’s pro’s and con’s. As I... More

Small friendly lodge in the middle of no-where. Fairy basic room with " cosy" ensuite shower room. Air-con but not terribly efficient. Free Wi-fi in the room. Lovely ground with small pool surrounded by vegetation teeming with humming birds. Water cold but very refreshing. Good home prepared - & often home grown/reared - food. Filtered water cooler to fill water... More

A very great experience overall. We hired a private guide, Douglas from Pantanal Expenditions. The walking trails kept us mildly entertained and this lodge is pretty far from the main jaguar search area Porto Jofre. Most of the time will be spent driving instead of looking for wildlife. Every room has a fun animal theme and decorated accordingly. I enjoyed... More

Nice place, people very kind. Good for horse riding, trails, safari. Good meals! I think is a good place where to stay with a good price/quality ratio. Quite far from the jaguar most frequented area, but they organize specific safari. Recommended!

Thanks to the hospitality of Joao Luiz Spies, the manager of the German owned hotel, our family of two adults and three children had a great two days and night at the hotel. We chose this pousada, well, because of the price. With a hindsight it was a great choice! The pousada (almost a resort if compared to some others in the neighbourhood) is runned by a Swiss-Brazilian family and there are dozens of people woriking in it to keep it clean and functioning every day. The meals are really satisfying (don't be... More

I did not want to write a review immediately as it would have been tainted by my anger. So, I waited almost a year and can now objectively say the owner is the kind of person you should avoid. We chose this pousada because it was less expensive than many other options and looked acceptable. We soon regretted this decision... More

As with most Transpantaneira pousadas, this is grossly overpriced. We left on a sour note, after being slugged on leaving with a payment demand for $$ for a boat trip which was clearly included in the booking. Beware! The owner is refusing any re-imbursement, and clearly greedily $$ driven, not guest-oriented. The English speaking manager was friendly and wildlife knowledgeable.... More
