Our room reek of shi't from the drain in the bathroom and we dont have a showercurtain = the entire toilet is flooded with water when we shower and dont even have scraber so we can dry it up, as we have to use the towels to dry the flood. On top of that, theres not even a trashbin in the room and theres illegal and dangerous electrical installations all over the place (yes i work as a firesecurity technician) and no fire security what so ever, this is basicly a death trap and this place would have been forced shut down in my country! I asked the reception to fix the missing showercurtain, the missing trashbin and the shi't reeking from the bathroom and they said they would, but nothing happens, they look you straight in the eye, fake smile, and that typical Oh im greek sp i cant speak english and pretend everything is cool. The buffet and All inclussive features is a joke, we always travel al inclussive and atleast 4star, and never have i witnessed standards this low. The buffet is family dinner sizer and theres is basicly only pasta and minced meat sauce, there is no snackbar and the bar by the pool serves shi't'ty vodka and water, thats it, no icecram for the kids. This hotel is a 1 star ashtray stinking vodkaservice ghettohotel at the best, calling this a 4 star all inclussive HOTEL is fraud and taking the pi's's on the visitors , i really should be suing the travel agency for wasting my time and money, But i guss short term planning is how they plan to rule the world. We wish them good luck with that, but we wont be contributing as we are officialy after this stay, not only done with Akoya or out travelagency, we are have had it with Greece as a whole, no more oliveoils og nasty honni for this family.…
I stayed with my family at Akoya resort. It was not my first time! A very nice hotel with very friendly people always willing to help you! Very close to the beach and also near Rethimno. Everything was perfect! I definitely recomend it!
PLEASE, DONT book your holiday at this resort!!! The owner and his straff at this hotel is a bunch of criminal people. The pool is full of oil and hair, no rinsing at all! TERRIBLE!!! My seven year old boy also was disgusted over the dirt floating around. The food was no good, boring, lowcost food. We survived mostly on fruit, melons and soda. Cleaning of the rooms was ok, but the whole place is runned down and is clearly ready for total renovasjon. After a couple of days staying at the hotel, we went to the beach for the sun/bathing and for dining. The first day at the resort they Playd so terrible loud music, you could not have a normal convercaison. At night the owner himself and some of his staff took all the chairs on tables for them selfs an let all their guests sit on simple, hard wood chairs. We was chased away!!!! So PLEASE….If you want a nice holiday DONT come to this resort. I give this resort from hell a 2 Stars. -at the most!!!!…
Mediterrian 4*, in North Europe 3*. Fantastic staff, always try to do their best, 5* for them. Food was good, this is small hotel. I have been in better all inclusive hotels but also worse than this. Almost all customers was from Finland or Sweden when we visit. Young swedish (age 18-20) was quite noisy.
The hotel is more like 3* hotel, but had everyhting we needed for a relaxing Cretan holiday! The staff is very friendly and ready to help if needed, the place is clean, the beds comfortable enough (even with back issues), all-inclusive had a decent variety of different foods, pool is great and there are plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day, the overall athmosphere is really laidback and peaceful which we enjoyed, and the location on a hill means both a quite sweaty walk uphill from the stores, restaurants and beach, but also excellent views! You can see all the way to Rethymno and the sunsets here are breathtaking! We had one of the upper balconies but you can also see the gorgeous view from the bar deck and the restaurant terrace! Taxi to Rethymno was 14e, but there is also a cheap bus option if you walk to the ”main street”. We rented a car through the hotel, is was also pretty cheap and they delivered the car to the hotel and back, there is a free parking area. You can ask the reception for a beach recommendation, they will give you information on the free sunbeds available at a beach close by. Few things to improve would be the gym and its equipment. It seemed to be in the development still, with only two gym machines. Some weights and a couple gym mats would already go long way. Also, the A/C in the rooms is okay, you can sleep etc, but has to be on all the times you are in the room, so it doesn’t cool the room too efficiently. Te bathroom gets quite wet after a shower, somekind of a tool to help the water get to the drains would be useful. But these were just small things, the overall experience was great and relaxing, we had read all these bad reviews beforehand but were very positively surprised, we enjoyed our holiday a lot and would even consider coming back!…
We just returned from a superb holiday in Akoya Resort. The hotel felt like a cozy, well-managed family-run place, with helpful and nice staff and relaxed atmosphere. We were there with our 2 small kids and Akoya was great for a peaceful family trip. Mostly families and couples, not a party place at all, luckily. The pool area was nice and safe for kids. The sun deck had a view to the sea. The pool was cleaned daily. The facilities and the rooms were kept very clean. All day the cleaners were busy washing the yard and tidying up. Rooms were cleaned nicely, with sheets and towels changed daily. The shower was ok too. The location was good, about 7-10 minute walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. The food was great, with lot of variety. Usually it came without labels, but the staff was always happy to introduce the food. The selection was great with fresh vegetables and fruits and several, varied warm dishes. We ate very well there, even as vegetarians. There was a beautiful sunset view from the restaurant. Thank you Akoya!!…
We booked 2 family rooms and when we got there they didn’t have 2 family rooms because family rooms were not habitable but they were advertising on booking.com website and shouldn’t have taken our booking. Me and my family had to call booking.com customer services and spoke to 3 different agents spent 5 hours outside the hotel. Booking.com tried to find alternative accommodation but we had pay again for new accommodation as we didn’t have enough funds to book new accommodation we had no choice to take other double rooms with 10% discount. We felt we were trapped and had no choice furthermore the hotel is advertising 4 star and this was a 2 star hotel, the room we were given there was water drain hole next to the toilet and smell of human waste we couldn’t stayed in the room for longer and we slept with all windows open again and we complained to the reception but it fell in to deaf ears. The food was very basic it was like tin food and always running out food and one time they run out sugar and I raised with the manger Antonio and said he will pop out to get some also there only 3 people in the restaurant assisting all dinning guest and for us it was shocking how this hotel can operate in this manner. We had decided to eat out most of the time and have all our receipts. There were many guest were similar to our situation, complaining and shouting at the receptionist and they were asking them to complain to their travel agent. We feel we have been deceived by the advert of the hotel is completely misleading and even the hotel manger has admitted the hotel is not 4 stars and he was blaming the owners of current situation of this hotel. We have paid lot of money for our holiday as a family and this has caused us so much distress and we did not enjoyed our stay at this hotel. If anyone thinking to staying there I can tell your for sure you wouldn’t enjoy your stay and will be wasting your money.…
"3 of my best friends and I spend magical 7 days at this hotel celebrating our 30’s birthdays. Starting with the most welcoming arrival late in the evening, which followed by a tour of the hotel and a lovely dinned at the restaurant with only 30 minutes to go before the closing time. Nothing was ever too much as the staff were always on hand and very helpful. The hotel rooms and facilities are of high standards and very clean. Every day without a fail our room was cleaned and made up. Even the classic rooms where beautiful. The hotel is in a great location, only few minutes walk from the beach, and we would definitely recommend this place as it is the best hotel in Adelianos Kampos- Rethymno. Thank you for making our stay so special!"
This place is great for relaxing. The price is reasonable and the whole place is clean. You can always lounge in the pool further away from your room. The staff are always willing to help with our requests and service has been very consistent over the years. We highly recommend the Akoya Resort to anyone as a choice destination on an island with many great hotel options. The town and the main bus stop are a few minutes walk away from the hotel. And the food was lovely. Would highly recommend to anyone!
Amazing hotel and extremely well managed! Everything is very well thought and very well maintained! All staff well trained and very friendly and efficient! The hotel restaurant is a delight, the food is good and the staff are exceptionally friendly. The location is perfect- close to the beach but away from the noise. I have no negative feedback about this place! Although the hotel was full, there are four pools and plenty of space to relax. It will be our pleasure to recommend this place to everyone!
