Detailed Reviews
My main complaint is that we paid $198 for one night for a room which was worth half that. However, it provided us with a night's accommodation when it was needed while most other accommodation providers in the area insist on a two-night minimum stay which isn't always possible.
On the plus side, the room was clean (as evidenced by the strong smell of bleach) and the TV was easy to operate. On the other hand, it was noisy! Neighbouring units could be heard and the sound of an airconditioning unit hummed loudly all night long. Couldn't turn on the cold tap in the bathroom. The fridge was placed in an awkward position next to the bed with the door facing the wrong way. Very odd. The place is in obvious need of some money spent on it, or to be practical, it's a knockdown and rebuild!

Room clean & tidy but that is about it. Toilet did not flush - had to get reception to look at it & every time I used it had to take top off cistern & lift float to flush. No light in bathroom - just heat lamp so on a hot December day showering under a heat lamp unacceptable. Shower curtain - not a screen. Motel seriously needs a revamp. Not worth paying $168.00 per night when I have stayed at Accor Hotels much more up market for less.

Overnighting prior to a fishing trip. Staff were accommodating for a late check in.
Basic room but good price. Tea and coffee with a microwave and jug. Aircon worked ok. Don’t expect the Ritz because that’s not what you pay for.

We decided to stay at Corlette Sands while visiting family in the area.
We should have walked away after being charged $20 over the advertised price making the charged for 1 night $168.
The room smelt very musky like it has not been opened in months, the Air con near fell out if the wall and was very loud and clunky. The hot water was non existent in the evening and early morning.
When we advised the manager on duty about the water issue, we were advised that it was likely a parent keeping their child in the shower too long. This water issue did not resolve in the morning.
We complained about the room and were only offered a $20 refund.
We do not recommend staying here to anyone, look for somewhere else.
Management doesn't care the customers have a terrible stay.

Due to the recent COVID-19 hot spots and border restrictions I had to unfortunately call up to cancel as I was travelling from another state, and was ready to discuss my options. Peter answered the call and promptly replied bad luck and that i need to "wear it". He was unapologetic, stale, rude and was not even open to discussion of a credit so we could actually come visit when this blows over. Considering this isnt the first time Ive had to change travel plans due to COVID 19, its funny how every other property ive delt with were more accommodating and happy to work out a deal with me so I could come and enjoy their business at a later date....yet this little motel was not even interested in future business. Maybe its time to take my money and pack it in Peter.

Response from Peter Bokodi, General Manager at Corlette Palms Motor Inn
Responded Dec 23, 2020
Dear Sharni, I am sorry to hear about how unfairly you feel you have been treated regarding your booking, and it certainly does come across that way to any one reading your review. However, you purposefully do not give any of the important details pertaining to your booking cancellation and changes that you had made earlier to this booking. Our customers are most important .to us, and we certainly go out of our way to try to meet all of their needs. One can well imagine all the cancellations that we have had over this very busy peak tourist period., so it really does seem odd , however, that you are the only disgruntled guest portraying us in this very negative light. We have been honorable and fair with all our guests during this very difficult time.

We booked into the Corlette Palms Motel for 3 nights from Thursday until Sunday and had a most disappointing stay.
On the first evening we found that one over bed light was not working and the hand basin in the bathroom was very slow to drain. We reported this to the manager the next morning and when we returned later, we found a note saying that nothing could be done over the weekend. There was no offer to move us to another room, so we had to put up with waiting for 15 minutes for the hand basin to drain every time we washed our hands. To add insult to injury, the note was addressed to another couple as the surname was nothing like ours! The fact that neither of these faults were detected during the room preparation prior to our arrival shows a worrying lack of quality control.
To make matters worse, there was an unbearable smell coming into the room through the french doors to the small patio to the rear. This was most likely due to drains or a septic tank, but it made having the door open impossible most days.
Overall I could not recommend the motel unless the room and service quality is significantly improved.

This was a last minute booking through the Port Stephens Tourism website - special price of $120!!! Cracked showerscreen, sliding plywood door to bathroom peeling, bar stools with seats falling apart, only 2 pillows, small outdated TV with set top box and reception so bad it was not possible to find any channel that could be watched, broken laminex in tea-making area, cockroaches. We stayed, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, but $120 was way over what should have been charged. This motel needs work, work, work, and the man behind the desk needs to improve his manner. Find somewhere else to stay.

This was recommended to us by Information people - they really need to start checking these places our!!!
It looked tired but I never judge a book etc, went into the room, it was small run down with broken glass around the shower and smelt very bad - didn't stop and when I went to give the keys back he had vanished so left it on the counter.. Room was $95 plus an extra 10 if you wanted Internet, we went on to Admiral Nelson and well read the review but for $4 extra what a difference!!

I would suggest contacting Peter the owner for your enquiry. He definately has the correct answer to your question, be mindful that some reviewers have not taken to Peter's character, i have had the pleasure of meeting the man who at best be described as practical.
