A nice hotel, in a quite spot, with clean and essential rooms. View and temperature up there were sux in August, kind staff but hard if you don t speak french, there was just 1 lovely girl speaking a bit of english and italian. Only breakfast didn t worth for me, for almost 10,00 euros per person the buffet was quite poor, and there was no other choices around there to get a proper breakfast. On the other hand its restaurant was delicious, fast service and good quality. Btw a optimum balance between price and quality.
Family run hotel with friendly helpful staff. The rooms are basic but very clean (cleaned daily) we were at the back and had wonderful views. The wi-fi a bit intermittent but thats not what we stayed for, the location is superb for access to the Gorge Du Verdon, 1 hour and 20 and your on the Cote Azure. We took up the demi-pension, which in my opinion is good value for money, Continental breakfast with good choice(if your not an early riser like me and its not there Ask!) croissants, pain au chocolat, and bread made fresh.Evening meal changes daily, if you dont fancy it ask and they offer another choice. Overall a very nice stay. Only one criticism could do with a commode(chest of draws) in the room as nothing to put clothes in but a armoire(wardrobe).
It's only a two star hotel but comes with a long history. Very convenient for the Gorges du Verdon. Perhaps a little overpriced but not objectionably so when you consider the location. Room was perfectly adequate if a bit small. Restaurant pretty good but might be very busy in the tourist season.
Staying in what the Guinness Book of World Records cites as the oldest hotel operated continuously by descendants of the same family was a fascinating and delightful experience. Established in 1737, the inn has been pleasantly modernized, while still retaining its historic charm. The family is obviously proud of the establishment and its history. Our room with bath was clean and neat and had a beautiful view over the countryside. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both of which were reasonably priced, offered good choices, were well-prepared and delicious. We would love to return some day. The hotel is perfectly suited to its location near the eastern end of the Grand Canyon du Verdon-- simple, charming, and comfortable. While an elevator would be nice, I would not wish for one to be added, if it did damage to the historic building housing the hotel. Comps-sur-Artuby is a delightful town for strolling its quaint streets and squares and hiking up to the 13th-century Romanesque Chapelle Saint-Andre. Because the chapel is flood-lit at night, we took the steep hike after dinner to walk off some of our delicious meal. Be forewarned, however, that the lights go out at 22:00, so best to take a flashlight.…
The hotel is very clean and well managed. There is a small terrace at the front of the Hotel.Free Wi-Fi for customers. Staff are helpful and speak English. After our meal the chef came out to see if we were pleased with the meal.
